I really wish Garmin saw this. It worked okay in the beginning. Traffic updates feature have never worked, even with the correct cord. The voice command option is pure junk; no matter what you say, it's never right. Today (2 years later), the unit shuts off when trying to update, and when you try to charge in the vehicle, the screen flashes bright to dim. We've always treated our Garmins the best as we once felt they were the best. I have a nuvi 50lm that I've had for 8 years and it's still rocking. This 2689lmt is JUNK.

Purchased TV that did not work. Box had been open before. Had to make another trip back to the store. Poor Service!!! Why was this TV on the shelf for sale if it did not work??

The Bluetooth was not good for the people I called. way to "Tinny" routes shown where not good in Boston ,

We went to country side and we followed the route and ended up in a dead zone and it was heavily raining with thunderstorms. It still kept on asking us to turn left where there was now way. This is after updating it every two weeks. It doesn't show the easier route like google maps. It always shows the longest route and we have to use google maps instead.

Garmin is the only brand GPS that my husband and I have ever owned and we've always been pleased with them. I wanted to upgrade my 3490lmt which I love-the clarity due to the high resolution is remarkable despite the 4.3 inch screen. After alot of research via the WEB and Consumer Reports, I bought the 2597lmt thinking I made a good choice and BB had it on sale which was also a plus. I was so wrong! I returned it the next day. After having the 3490 with the 800x480 resolution, the lower resolution on the 2597 was a huge disappointment for me. I bit the bullet and bought the 2689lmt from BB - alas, not on sale and no competitor offered a lower rate for BB to match, that I wanted for an upcoming cross country road trip. I wanted lifetime maps and traffic, voice recognition, and the 3D map view. The 2689lmt has the same 800X480 higher resolution as my old 3490lmt and I LOVE IT! All the information is clearly visible with sharp images and wording on the 6 inch screen. I feel this will be one of the best investments I have made in awhile and intend to keep it for a very long time. It would've been nice if I could've gotten it on sale but it's worth every penny. Best GPS ever!

I have returned my gps over 6 times due to malfunctions, I am fed up with this gps and will be looking for a better match

This unit is fair, it tells you to turn on the street right when you are in the middle of the intersection. The voice commands work maybe 5% of the time so typing the information in is faster. No real documentation comes with the unit so you have to go to Garmin's website to really understand the unit.

Loved this Garmin we purchased for our teenage daughter, nice size screen and easy to use. However, within 10 months of purchase, the screen went completely black and we have been unable to get any life whatsoever on the screen. IF you purchase this product, better get the warranty, which we did not, and now we are out the $200+.

Doesn't always understand. Tucson, AZ has to be specified.

but not that great at understanding voice commands when the car is moving (which is why I chose this.) Returned it for a better value for money Magellan Roadmate.

Worked good for a little while but the after updates now is shuts off whenever it wants to.

The one I bought stopped working. Had to return it. Was not charging properly.

The device does not always start not happy with the that I've been able to use this expensive device. Problems started at the time that I purchased it unfortunately I was not informed by my daughter who is away from college so now I am out GPS system

Garvin apparently doesn't stand by its product. We cracked a screen, and tried to contact Garvin about a fix. sent a couple letters. They blew us off. Be warned. I rate it poor because of the lack of customer service from Garvin.

My son's GPS was stolen from his car while parked at his college so I decided to give him my previous, 2 year old Garmin and buy a new unit for myself. This is an excellent choice. I'm very pleased with the bright, clear display. The fast response time. And I especially like the voice command options.

Garmin couldn't even find my home address, claimed it didn't exist. Even after marking it, it claimed the address didn't exist.

I purchased this product while on a business trip. I was using my phone and Google maps for directional information and found that the map was hard to see. This GPS was large a clear and very simple to use.

The new features on this GPS are great. The only thing we have an issue with, is the bluetooth. We have turned the volume all the way up and it is still a little hard to hear the person on the other end of the phone. We have no trouble hearing the directions though. I love the way the directions are given. They are so easy to understand, and the voice command is wonderful.

Never give the traffic update I changed the product

The first GPS I get was the garmin 57LM, but I returned to the store and upgrade to this garmin 2689 one inch more bigger and brilliant colors, I loved and I just get the rear back up camera , I hope I can install tomorrow at the best buy store
