This is my 3ed Garmin gps. it doesn't have some of the features my others have had but It is the best so far. The voice command could use some improvements but still works better than what I expected. Overall, I am very pleased with my purchase.

I like this unit. It is my second Garmin product. Size and thickness are great, a little heavy for a shirt pocket but OK in a jacket pocket. I like the magnetic connection to the windshield holder and the lifetime free map and traffic updates. The initial update of the maps takes a looooong time. I think it was four hours. As noted above, on the initial real use to go someplace that I hadn't been before about 1 1/2 hours away, it sent me west when it should have sent me east. I thought I was going in the wrong direction and checked the route. It had me going 12 miles then looping around coming back to where I was. I turned around and it recalculated properly, but I had to have my wife check the map to be sure it was right this time. She was not happy! Disconcerting in a brand new EXPENSIVE top-of-the-line GPS. We'll have to see how it works in the future.

I have used a Garmin for about 4 years and thought the previous model worked just fine. When I no longer received traffic information I decided to get a better model with a 5 inch display and lifetime services. The display is much easier to read, even with my sunglasses on. I really like seeing which lane to be in for freeway interchanges. I like everything about it so far other than the voice directions for turns. When I am looking at the display I see how close I am to the next turn but today I wasn't paying attention and the voice didn't come on until I was just passing the turn. I noticed it was late on the next turn also. Maybe there will be a software update in the future.

If you need a stand alone GPS, this is the one. Fast and efficient.

I've owned and used Garmins for the past ten years. I've always recommended Garmins. I always swore by my Garmin. This one, I could only swear at. Bought Garmin's best for this years vacation trip. This unit would almost always take an indirect and longer route. It preferred surface streets and stop lights to limited access highways, even when running parralel. Took us into very questionable neiborhoods on tight streets when major arteries turned out to be a block or two away. Was relentless in trying to put us on gravel roads. Would not display the names of towns we were passing by or through. Bluetooth link to I-Phone sounded great, but person on the other end got only static. I'm no novice to GPS's. Repeatedly checked settings and preferences to no avail. Reloaded maps, upgraded software. Called Garmin support upon our return. Spent 45 minutes on the phone with a very courtious and professional representative. We walked through all settings and found nothing to cause these issues. The only result was a speculation the unit may have been trying to avoid traffic congestion. No congestion in several places it mis behaved. The representative's conclusion was the unit was probably operating properly. Was told Bluetooth issue was due to Garmin's latest product not being tested with an I-Phone 5. Not the performance I expected from Garmin. The unit was returned.

picture quality is good, there are a lot of useful perks available.

The over all functions of this GPS are great. Use it all the time and now since Illinois went to hands free, my cell phone pairs right up.

Garmin easily found our vacation spot when we were told it was difficult to find. I also purchased a dashboard mount to go with it. Maps on my phone have a lot better traffic reports.

Picks up signal fast, wish the voice recognition worked better

This ia a really nice GPS - has lots of great features, some of which I have yet to explore. What I have used has been easy to use - more intuitive than so many electronic devices.

Excellent GPS with free map updates. The screen is vibrant and easy to read.

I had used my phone for GPS Driving and liked it.... until the battery overheated and had to buy a new phone or pay as much as a new phone just for the battery! Now that I know the value of a stand alone GPS I bought this one and it's done it's job perfectly so far. The little things make it worth the extra money. Traffic Avoidance really helps near big cities and the magnetic mount that provides power is extremely convenient. The GPS attaches to the mount perfectly every time and the magnets don't let go.

Quick easy set up and easy to use. Traffic updates are accurate when you are within a traffic zone.

This is a great product. You will not be disappointed!

This Garmin nuvi 3597LMTHD GPS has been a lifesaver as I was always getting lost before its purchase. It is very user friendly!

I use this navigation in rental cars. It seems to be more accurate than my in dash gps in both of my cars. I took this unit recently on vacation and it didn't get me lost once.

Love this GPS. Mounts easy and works great. I would have given it all 5 stars but the base maps (like all gamins) have some holes. I have to rely on my iPhone occasionally.

I really love this GPS. It is easy to read and gives a lot of details about the area you are presently in. It's directions are clear and complete. Overall, a great product!

Over all the best GPS I have owned. Excellent screen, love the HD, and the response is quick. Get great reception in large cities. Great purchase if you can get it on sale
