We have had Garmin GPS's since they have come out. Love this one, as it is easy to attach to the mounting unit (magnet). Updates are so easy to load. Helped me out when there was lots of accidents/road construction to avoid. Easy to use and easy to see which exit to take. Price is a bit high, but usually is when they first come out. But needed a good unit here in Houston to get around. Overall, would recommend!!!

The GPS works very well for all the basic functions, the design is pretty cool too. However I was looking forward to use the built in microphone and speakers, but the sound is too low and the people keep hearing noises when I speak. Considering the price, I would expect more than basic functions.

I upgrade my GPS unit every couple of years, mainly because I like to have the newest features. I've never upgraded because one has failed or has not lived up to my expectations. I usually give my old one to a family member or friend that could use one. I have ALWAYS purchased Garmin, and have NEVER considered another brand. The 3597 has once again reminded me why I am so loyal to Garmin. This unit is everything a GPS should be. The touch screen is more sensitive than any I've ever owned, it responds to "clicks" faster than previous Garmins, It calculates a new route and acquires satellites faster than before. It connects to my computer to download maps more reliably than others I have owned, and the volume seems louder than older ones. I LOVE the magnetic mount, and the fact that the 3597 knows landmarks! Yesterday it told me to "Turn right past the golf course." What don't I like? Well, the voices seem more computer generated than they were on my older Garmins. I usually use the Aussie female voice (Karen I think) and she sounds a little more robotish. The voice recognition could be a little better too, it should be able to tell the difference between "Voice Command" (the phrase you use to engage the voice commands) and "Choice demand" (The phrase I used to test it's listening skills) Overall, this is another solid product from Garmin and I have no regrets shelling out the greenbacks for it. You won't be sorry.

After buying a tomtom which was a nightmare, I took that back and bought this garmin. I have to say I love it. The screen is very clear while driving, It tells you and shows you which lanes you should be in, It is very easy to navigate. I love the bluetooth calling feature and the live traffic updates.

Purchased this GPS in June in anticipation of two trips. First trip flew to Florida, so used GPS very little. Second trip in July-August was a road trip out WEST & it was a GPS NIGHTMARE! PROBLEM #1: Volume turned up as loud as possible but was NOT as loud as previous Garmin GPSs. PROBLEM #2: On several occasions, the SCREEN WENT BLANK! The sound came through, but NO PICTURE AT ALL! We turned the GPS off for a period of time, and when we turned it back on, the picture came back on. This happened several times! What good is a GPS with NO PICTURE? (Just glad we were out West and not in New York City or LA!) I have owned at least 3-4 Garmin GPSs in the past and NEVER had a problem with them! I plan to return the GPS to Best Buy this week, and probably will get an argument, knowing the reputation they have! I'll post a follow-up if Best Buy gives me a hard time!

the GPS works very well-I've come to rely on it completely-just have to remember to choose your route beforehand--'save fuel' will take you on all back roads and take longer. But linking between mobile phone & maps is mystifying. I still haven't been able to update the maps even though it's advertised as Lifetime maps. The saved places aren't in alphabetical order so it takes time to find them. And a time waster- when you've finally found a place and clicked there's the extra step of clicking 'Go'. Unless you're pulled over the side of the road these split seconds of distraction can have consequences.

This is my first GPS and it's worth every penny! My favorite features are that it shows you the weather and temp outside as well as traffic jams or construction. Can't beat the lifetime updates on maps and traffic! The 3D buildings are also cool to see.

First thing I did was download the Garmin Web Updater program and installed it on my MAC. I hooked up the GPS unit using the supplied usb cable. NO Updates were needed. Amazing. I plotted a route and decided to try the traffic function around town. It wasn't perfect, but acceptable. The hands free voice activation is wonderful. Just speak clearly. Using the Bluetooth function mated with the Iphone is spot on. It also works with android phones. Buy it..you won't be disappointed.

This is my 5th Garmin unit in the past 9 years. I've been using the Garmin Nuvi 3790T for the past 3 years until the speakers started going bad. This new unit is so much better in every way! The voice software is much nicer, the recalculate feature is very fast. I like this unit so much I will be buying a second one for my girlfriend for a Christmas present! I haven't use the Iphone feature yet beside to connect with the Bluetooth function. May to play with that function soon :)

Really like this GPS. The size is perfect and it is so easy to use. The price was less than I excepted.

I travel for a living. Over the years i've used many GPS's and without a doubt this one is the very best. The screen clarity is absolutely incredible. I love everything about this unit. I can't ever go back to anything less. Raymond

I love the new Garmin 3597LMTHD GPS. It is very fast to upload the route especially when you miss a turn. I got the older Garmin model and I have grown tired of waiting for the GPS to recalculate my route. This one is fast!

Wasn't sold on Garmin until I purchased this gps. Best I have ever had. I will for sure purchase Garmin again. The 3D effects of this gps are outstanding. I also bought one for my son.

I had issues at first with the unit but Garmin solved it and it has not given me any problems whatsoever after the help. I really like the live traffic and it does work really well.

THIS GPS IS A REAL GOOD GPS.IF U PASSED THE ENTRANCE U SOPPOSED TO ENTER , IT FAST GIVE U ANOTHER WAY TO GET TO YOUR POINT.IT IS A REAL FAST ACTING DIVICE COMPARE TO OTHERS.

I haven't seen the 3D view yet (I've had for 3weeks) and yes I have the settings right. I love Garmin this is my 3 rd one,but for the price Garmin is selling this one for I think it should work the way it saids it will (3D view) after all that is one reason I purchased this one. I called Garmin and got no help. I think Garmin Bombed out on this one, I think they should make a program that would fix the problem. For the price you pay for the 3597LMTHD it should work right and NO I would not recommend this one to anyone!

LOVE this new GARMIN!! I got this to update my very old Garmin and this is loaded with NEW things and very useful let me just say!!

I love the touch screen Very responsive. Life traffic Feature is awesome

I'm a delivery driver and it honestly works better as a road map for me than a gps. The voice command doesn't work hardly at all and unless I pull over to type an address manually it can't ever recognize streets. Like I said. Better as a digital road map that tells you what's ahead than a gps for me.

The cord that came with it doesn't charge it. Suggestions?
