Pros -no doubt, the screen size is very beneficial -lightweight -sound -battery lasts long -most importantly, free map updates! Cons Doesn't come with a bag :P. None so far.

I bought my first Garmin 10 years ago and still works great today. This Garmin 55LM has a much better touch screen, with more features. I would never buy any other brand GPS.

I got one for a few people in my list and they have had great experiences with them. I used mine when traveling across the country and it worked great for us!

Purchased this item, because after six years my previous Garmin Nuvi was not holding a charge. Previous model was a little easier to use when changed states, but this one is OK.

I had to purchase a second device since my first one was stolen and I truly had been missing using it. Very accurate and a great help when you do as much traveling as I do.

Works good for an inexpensive GPS, just wish Garmin would have better support. There are some problems with long route calculations so you need to plan your routes using BaseCamp.

My mother-in-law requested this for a gift. She was looking for a no-frills GPS, but, one that would stay current and would get her where she wants to go. This is perfect!

Easy to set up, easy to use, I really like the feature that does not let you change settings while the vehicle is in motion.

Has really no instructions that come with it, but pretty easy to use. Wish it came with a better mount for air vent or dash instead of window. But I guess that can be ordered.

Unit makes great use of wide screen, which splits to assist in defining turns and exit lanes.

Got this on black Friday and I updated it right away and its been great so far. Its easy and simple to use and the screen is a lot bigger then our old GPS, so its great!

The voice is clear and the routes are straight forward. I really like how it displays the speed and images of the exit signs. Although unnecessary, it's still pretty neat.

Replaced a failed Magellan (about five years old) with this unit. I find it is a little better at routing and the search feature is a lot better. There are some features on the Magellan that I was used to that this Garmin doesn't have: 1) No easy way to navigate to an intersection. I usually know cross streets more than I know addresses. 2) Not really intuitive in forcing it to pick different waypoints on a trip. 3) It doesn't power off after so long with no motion. Have to manually power it off, which I don't always remember. Overall I like the unit. It just has different features than the Magellan.

Easy to setup, easy to use, lifetime maps, big screen. Took away one star because it takes a little long to acquire satellites but I'm not sure if that is the fault of the GPS

This works well right out of the box. Easy to use, intuitive, good first GPS. Lifetime maps is nice, does not include Traffic but it only works in some areas anyways.

My Garmin came in very handy traveling away from home. I have a Tom Tom in another car and this out does it by far. It's pretty easy to use and very easy to program.

Everything I was hoping for .... and so much more ! Glad I finally joined the 21st Century. Never lost again.... I hope !

Simple to use, works great, gets me where I need to go. Very intuitive. Found it may not offer every route to choose from, but normally the best highways and fastest.

I've only used it once but was great. I usually use my phone GPS around town but when on a trip need something else. This was great and was very reasonably priced.
