Our very old GPS stopped working. We purchased this model and was completely satisfied with it. The price was great too!

I got the unit delivered before Christmas for my son and went ahead(after reading the reviews) and downloaded all of the current maps. I did not notice that the screen was broken until he turned it on on Christmas morning. Man was I bummed. I expected returning it to be a hassle but it went smoothly and BestBuy was great about it. He drives for living and says he is thrilled with the unit.

Great product, I´ve used before Garmin but I found this one perfect for me, perfect size and also have micro SD car slot.

The Garmin Nuvi 55LM is a great overall GPS, but it lacks something really important; VOLUME. The sound quality on this GPS is not loud enough and if you are driving really fast on the highway, you may not be able to hear it especially if your car has a loud engine like mine does. The older model, 50LM which is the one I had before the charging port broke, was the best, it was super loud and clear, calculated directions faster than the 55LM(newer) and it was simple to use.

i am not very good with the new technology but I couldn't go wrong with this . It was so easy to set up and use.
