I have an earlier version of this model that I continue to use in one of my vehicles. This operates a little differently, requiring that you type in street address and street name rather than zipcode first. Didn't take much to get used to and so far has been extremely accurate.

It is great for someone who just needs a simple GPS and doesn't like using the phone for this function. I do wish it told you how much time was remaining in the trip though vs just the time of arrival. That is not a required function, but it is a nice thing to have.
I would recommend this to a friend Great GPS receiver. Sure beats the old Tom Tom.

It could be the settings I have it on or maybe the areas I'm driving in, but it's unclear. It says turn right but the turn is actually 800ft away and there are turns in between. Weird. My wife hates it...

The device will tell you ahead of time about an upcoming turn. However, the voice directions should include the distance and the street you're to turn on. For instance, "In 500 feet, turn right on Main St". The route is highlighted on the map to aid you. Also, the distance to the next turn, direction of the turn, as well as the proper lane to be in (if applicable) will appear in the upper left corner of the screen.
