I purchased this GPS unit for a friend and she loves it, but was unable to charge it in a wall socket. So she will have to return it.

Never really bought a GPS before this one and it's definitely worth it! Great screen, updates fast, and seems pretty durable.

Unlike older nuvi GPS units, this model does not have a Screen Lock. If someone acquires your unit without your permission, they have full access to all features without having to enter a code. That makes the unit more vulnerable to theft. I wish instead that I had purchased lifetime maps for my older unit which works just fine and requires a code to activate. The newer model also lacks maps of Canada.

Works well and has lifetime maps. Shows other useful stops on the way to your destination such as restaursnts and gas stations.

Garmin Quality is well known,clear audio and good screen picture quality,I am well satisfied with this product.

This is my second Garmin. My first one served me well for years and I had purchased lifetime map updates for it. I replaced my old Garmin with a new Nuvi 57LM. I was thrilled that this came with lifetime map updates. I hooked it up to Garmin Express before leaving on vacation and updated the North America maps. While on vacation, this unit got me lost three times. It said things like "Navigate off road" and "impossible". My wife thought this was very amusing since her smart phone got us to our destinations every time. I had to eat a lot of crow for spending the money on this. Luckily I was able to return it for a full refund since it was within the 15 day purchase period. We will be using any one of several navigation options on our smart phones from now on. I cannot in good conscience recommend this product to anyone. It is hard to believe that this newer model with the latest map updates performed so poorly. If I could give is negative stars for a rating I would.

Garmin has the best Gps systems. Great direction accuracy and good graphics.

Good gps for the money. Don't want something expensive. Does the job well.

Sometimes the unit gets "lost" which I can do by myself. I am not sure what happens but very infrequently it decides it wants to go somewhere else (even when I know where I am going). I am told that they all use the same logic and satellites so this would happen to all units.

Purchased it for cab driving but my Samsung Edge phone was far more accurate and had better coverage.

Trying to set up this unit is difficult. The manual is helpful to a point, but not completely. I am basically just trying on a hit or miss basis. I emailed Garmin for help, and they did respond right away. The procedure to just get the unit ready is ridiculous.

Doesn't find major roads, landmarks, etc. Awful support. Last map update entirely erased maps from unit so it doesn't work. Garmin products are garbage and their support stinks.
