the gps works great and i like the compact size of it

This is the best turn by turn Garmin I have ever owned. You can not get lost using this.

I bought this as a gift for my dad. He needed a GPS for road trips but didn't want to deal with anything complicated. This worked out great for him as he knows how get from Point A to Point B without getting confused with operating the GPS. The unlimited map updates was a bonus since his last GPS was older and he did not want to pay to get map updates.

Bought this GPS as a gift for my sister, as her previous Garmin was outdated. We have used this GPS to travel from Vegas to Florida and then to Georgia and Delaware and back home to Florida. Worked well after reading the instructions. Wished they had a written book for these items in the box instead of going on line and having to print them out.

My previous GPS device died and I needed a new one. I read the reviews for several models and decided on the Garmin Nuvi. I saw that Best Buy had it on sale, so I drove down and bought it. Set up was easy and went very smoothly. I had it in my car with up-to-date software and maps within an hour and it's worked great since!

I bought this gps system to use for work, I am a route driver, so I use this everyday for work. I've never used a navigation system before, other than the one on my cell phone. for somebody who uses navigation a lot, I would definitely recommend this over a cell phone. I would only like it more if you could set routes with all saved stops in order.

Garmin devices have always been superior, but this one is truly great. It tells you exactly what lane to occupy in order to either exit or continue through. And it's surprisingly accurate. One annoying feature is that it gives a loud ding when entering a school zone, and I haven't been able to figure out how to turn this off.

bought this as an upgrade from a Tom Tom. That was a good unit that got me through many miles, but the Garmin had more features. I am happy with purchase, especially since it went on sale online a day or two later, and the store let me take advantage of their price match guarantee and credited me for the difference!

This is an easy way to find my way around cities and much easier to see than checking my cell phone. Large enough to see everything & tells me how long to reach my destination. Best of all - it warns me when I am entering a school zone so I don't speed in one and get a ticket. It's well worth the money for the convenience.

The Garmin Nuvi 57 Lm is one of the best portable gps on the market. I use to have a Tom Tom, but the Garmin is a better unit.

Got orders to move from Washington state to fort stewart, GA. I didn't want to risk using my phones gps for a 39hour 2900+ mile drive. I got this garmin and basically a solo drive across the country was a joke. It shows gas stations nearby (which for me was a must). Honestly if you need a GPS this is the way to go.

Was easy to program. Worked very well in giving directions.

We are very happy with this Garmin. We had an older version for many years and really like the enhancements over the years!

This Garmin - NUVI 57LM acquires satellite information much faster than my old GPS - usually less than 20 seconds. I have not experienced any routing anomalies yet (compared to my Droid phone GPS, which sent me into an infinite circle once - I realized it when I saw the same dog walker three times). HOWEVER - the screen is not bright enough inside the car during full daylight, and is almost impossible to read in full daylight. This makes some features (like the display of which exit to take) useless during full daylight (this is why I gave the Garmin NUVI 57LM 4 stars out of five). Also, my pet peeve with Garmin units is still present in the NUVI 57LM - mispronunciation of street names (like PUL-aski highway is pronounced PU-laski highway, etc). My Droid phone has a MUCH better speech program than Garmin, and usually pronounces the street names correctly. Garmin has had years to upgrade their speech program, and has apparently done nothing. SUMMARY - aside from street name pronunciation and screen brightness, this Nuvi is a rock solid GPS that does a great job of getting you there - wherever "there" is. Well worth the money - especially when you get tired of your phone GPS providing crazy directions.
