We bought this unit when we were on vacation while we were with a group of cars. Everyone else in our group had one and we realized that if we got separated from the group, we would have a hard time finding our way back. We stopped at the local Best Buy and within 20 minutes we were on our way.

I bought this to go to a funeral in another state and it got me there. I knew how to go half way and at a point it wanted me to turn but I kept straight and it recalculated to the direction I wanted to go basically. Once I didn't know where I was at, I trusted it and it got me there.

Purchased this Garmin because my other Garmins Key pad stopped responding ( was purchased in 2007 ). Really like this one for its lane display. But the best feature is that it remembers the route you actually take - may be different from it's recommended route. Good product at a good price.

I use my Garmin GPS whenever I'm in my truck even if I know where I'm going because the Garmin gives me approximate arrival time to my destination and traffic conditions. Also, the posted speed limit is displayed on the screen which comes in handy when speed limit sign is not visible.

I wanted something of good quality and I got it! Didn't cost as much as most but I can see the screen clearly. And I love how it splits the screen and shows me a image of my up coming exit. Used this to drive from arkansas to new York and back and had absolutely no issues!

Was for my parents who do not own a smartphone with GPS capabilities. This an upgrade from an older unit that still wanted to charge for map updates (loose a star) but from a recent trip out of state, it did everything for them it was supposed to and the lane feature was a big plus for them.

The Garmin - nüvi 57LM 5 GPS with Lifetime Map Updates is a very handy tool to ensure that you get to your destination in a timely manner. The screen is easily readable and the voice announcer is clearly understood.

I bought this because my previous one was losing satellite reception. The customer service stated that with the updated maps and newer model would work a lot better. Not true. It is not any better than any better than my previous one.

This is my second Garmin GPS. This had lifetime maps that hooked me. I believe it's more detailed than a GPS on a phone. It gives much more details all located in one place. We enjoy it since we travel frequently.

We were out of town when we had major trouble with our other Garmin GPS. We purchased this model on sale at Best Buy for $99. It performs just as well as the more expensive models, it just doesn't have blue tooth and is a bit smaller. We were very happy with the purchase!

I bought this for my mom for her birthday. I wanted the one without the traffic updates because I thought it would confuse her more. So far so good, but I only rated it a four stars because there is a lot of unknown. I am not the one that owns and it she just got it middle of last month.

I wanted a decent gps unit that wouldn't break the bank. I researched several gps units and this was my first choice. It does not have many of the latest and greatest bells and whistles, but I am ok with that, I have used it on several trips and find it very useful.

I purchased 3 of these for my teenage kids for Xmas. They love them! They used the phone maps prior to these and they would takes eyes off the road and the fact that day time was being used. I recommend these for all families that have young adults that drive.

Garmin continue to modify and advance their product. Now you can type in your address quickly and it will give you all possible locations. The current version is however slow to react, for instance, it lags a little for sudden change in direction and this need some improvement.

I used my Best Buy Points so only paid $50 for this, so I cannot complain. However if you want something that is easier to use, spend a little more. This does what I want, but is a bit clunking since you have to manually tap every address in instead of just using voice commands.

This Garmin is terrific at finding locations fast & efficiently. I already used it on a trip & will use it soon for traveling this summer. i only used a few of it's many capable features, & I know it has many more that other people would be interested in.
