It has rather poor battery life (2-3 days with moderate to heavy cardio use) and the screen doesn't stay illuminated to use it functionally for workouts. As well, the "screen illuminates with lifting of the wrist" functionality is unreliable and inconsistent.

Posted .The battery life on the vívosmart can be impacted by several factors, including screen brightness, frequency of smart notifications, and frequency of heart rate monitor or speed sensor use. Depending on usage, a single charge of the vívosmart's rechargeable battery can last up to 7 days.
The screen illuminating when lifting your wrist is a feature called auto-on. The auto-on feature is designed to conserve battery life and should trigger by turning your wrist toward your body. We recommend checking Garmin Connect to ensure that the correct wrist orientation is set to how you wear the vívosmart. Additionally, double-tapping the vívosmart will turn on the display. Software updates have been released for both the device, as well as the iOS, and Android apps. These updates strengthened bluetooth stability, which greatly improved syncing and reconnection. The device does not have Wi-Fi accessibility nor will this message appear on the mobile app that you would use with your device. Posted .Thank you for your review. We did want to address the trouble you had with the touchscreen. A quick software update on your vívosmart would likely have corrected this. An update was released on Dec. 17th which did address an issue we were made aware of in which the touchscreen may sometimes appear temporarily unresponsive, and enhanced the overall responsiveness of the screen.
