    Great little fitness tracker

As a Garmin product, the app works well once used to it. It displays time, steps taken, steps to go, and a few other things as well. The Garmin app connects the an under armor app for meal/calorie tracking which is a neat feature to enhance the usability of it as a fitness tracker. I don't know if it's my watch, my phone, or what but sometimes the Bluetooth loses connection, but it always reconnects without a problem!

    I wish it was better

There is nothing better then buying a new gadget that is not only going to help with the smartphone it will help with fitness, unless it is a flaming pile like the Vivosmart. What a great idea. I loved it for the simplicity, its water resistance, and its unobtrusive style. Unfortunately there is no user guide to direct you at all! The app is total garbage. Spent three hours trying to get this to pair with my iphone 6s and no dice. I am an IT Engineer and could not figure out how to get this thing to pair with both my phone and app. The only good thing about this was the charging unit. Very smart design. Also note, if you have big wrists the clasp does not stay secure near as well as they like to think. All in all great concept but ZERO delivery. Back to the store it goes.

    Great Until it Stops Working

I loved thus tracker. I have small wrists and wanted something small, and unobtrusive that would provide all day wearability, water-resistant, decent notification set from my Android phone yet still provided a solid host of fitness monitors with a great application. This fitness band has all of that. Problem is, it's not very reliable. 6 months into my first one, screen failed. Called Garmin customer service (they are pretty good) and was informed they no longer make this band. Offered me an upgrade. The upgrade model is too bulky and awkward on my wrist. Sent it back for a refurbished Vivosmart. About 3 weeks in I realized I wasn't receiving notifications. The vibration motor failed. I again called Garmin. They offered me another refurbished model or a refund. 5 stars for Garmin customer service, 2 stars for a fitness band that gets you hooked but is unreliable.

Unless you have one of the phones on the very short list of phones they show compatible I would not bother with this thing. Firmware updated 3 times along with the mobile app updates. Still doesn't work/sync very well using a stock LG G3. The design is great but, what's the point if it works horribly?

Thank you so much for your review! Although the phones listed in our Bluetooth Smart FAQ (http://j.mp/GRMNBTSmart) have been confirmed to be compatible, that doesn't mean that phones not listed won't work. Phones not listed could be compatible as long as they meet the following requirements:

      - Running Apple iOS 7.0 or newer.
      - Running Android 4.3 OS or newer.
      - Bluetooth 4.0 capable.

Still, it's unfortunate that you had problems syncing with your LG G3, and I'm sorry to hear about that. We release firmware updates periodically to improve our products, including (but not limited to) Bluetooth improvements and bug fixes. It's important that you continue keeping your device and application up-to-date for the best performance possible. It's also important to ensure that no other Bluetooth connections are made during the sync process (such as a Bluetooth headset). If you need assistance syncing or continue experiencing problems with this, we'd love to help you via email or telephone. Our contact information can be found on our Support page, found here: http://j.mp/GRMNSupport.

Thank you so much for taking the time to write your review. We value your input and appreciate the feedback. Thank you! (KS)Garmin

Exactly what I've been looking for

I have tried every brand and returned every brand of fitness band out there, until now! I have had this for almost a week and I have been very impressed! I like the Smart Goals and the notifications have been very handy to see on my wrist. This does exactly what it says it will do and is super comfortable and sleek looking! The battery life seems to be good as I am still at about 50% and I have played with it a lot! I really like this product and definitely recommend it.

    Great idea, bad execution

The second day wearing the tracker, I was about 1,000 steps from hitting my daily goal and then it reset itself back to zero. It did it two more times after that. The next morning the tracker was working fine, but my app said that I had almost 2.000 steps already. Also I have it linked to MyFitnessPal and it wouldn't add in my exercise calories until one day it said I had 900 calories when I just woke up. I love everything about the Vivosmart but it's main purpose that I wanted it for is completely flawed. I love getting my iphone notifications on my wrist but that's not the main reason why I purchased this device. I will be returning and exchanging for something else.

    I LOVE it!!

Easy to use, has several options for personalizing it to your liking. I put off purchasing a fitness band due to their limitations, finally got an all-in-one model: watch, fitness & sleep tracker plus you can read your smartphone notifications and emails. Too bad you can't answer from it, lol. Read reviews prior to purchasing and some complained about it being hard to remove due to the safety band, all I have to say is they are putting it on too tight, loosen it up one notch & it is much easier. I have shown it to friends and several are planning to upgrade and several others are putting this on their Christmas wish list. :)

Still beta: buy at your own risk

First week of usage (I wear it 24/7) I noticed two main defects: - the display is hardly readable in direct sunlight - was not pairing with a Garmin heart rate monitor But overall I was satisfied. I did some research and in Garmin support website they acknowledged the problem with the heart rate monitor and committed to a release of a new firmware update to fix this. After one week I decided to return the unit to the store because of two deal breakers for me: - After charging the unit with the provided USB cable the battery was lasting even less than one day. I tried three times with same bad results. - The touch display is unresponsive and gets blocked. It's not responsive. My 3-year-old Garmin Forerunner 610 has never had a problem with the touch display. I think it is still a beta product not ready for day-to-day use.

Sorry to hear about issues you had with your vívosmart. We did in fact release a software update that improved connectivity to the heart rate monitor and the touch sensitivity of the device. Those updates are available from Garmin Express at: garmin.com/express

Received the Vivosmart as a gift for Christmas over 1 year ago. Worked well untill the display began loosing lines. Called Garmin, they offered a refund or an upgrade to the Vivosmart HR. I choose the HR but really prefer the size of the original Vivosmart.

I received this watch as a Christmas gift in 2014. I absolutely loved it read all the information on the watch and reviews. In the fall of 2015 my watch stopped syncing w my phone, the print would partly show up, and the battery wouldn't hold up as long. November/December half of my screen will not work. I have to guess on the time date and so on. I wish I would have known this watch would only last a year. I wish I never asked for this watch.

Disappointed, definitely hard to see in sun, doesn't alway react to finger touch, trouble syncing with my iphone. Can't get it to read my Garmin heart rate monitor. I've spent an hour on phone with Garmin with no luck. It won't live update your steps count to your phone. Mosquito repelant must be caustic to the plastic as even with one small spray it leaves spots, that are permanent. I do like getting the text messages and phone call notice on my wrist.

The vívosmart's screen brightness can be adjusted using the steps found at http://bit.ly/1rq3LKF. It also features an auto-bright display setting, which allows your vívosmart to maximize the screen brightness during a timed activity.

For the touchscreen, we recommend running a software update using Garmin Express, as there have been updates released that include touchscreen improvements. Update the vívosmart here: http://j.mp/GRMNXP

For syncing your vívosmart to your phone, please ensure your phone is listed as compatible. For a list of all compatible phones, visit http://bit.ly/1vJTPTi. We recommend syncing your vívosmart to your phone using the steps found here: http://bit.ly/1y97YYa

If your heart rate monitor will not pair with your vívosmart, visit http://bit.ly/1ANY7uc for troubleshooting steps.

Exposure to harsh chemicals, such as insect repellents containing DEET, may cause permanent discoloration or damage to the vívosmart. For care and leaning instructions, visit http://bit.ly/11Uh5B6.

I used a Fitbit for about two years but I gave up on it because it was extremely unreliable. The Vivosmart is a much better option. It has phone notifications and a move reminder, both of which are not found on Fitbits. And I love having a display. My only complaint is that it was difficult to set up, both initially and with the heart rate monitor. After they were set up and synced I have had no problems. I'm very pleased with my purchase.

it is the solution for all my requirement, but had to replace it once since it was not connecting with my mobile and display went off. I got confused on the durability, it's just been 2 months fortunately i had a protection plan on it and it worked. I still got the same one to see whether that works for longer duration, BTW no other product in market can exactly provide all feature this provide.
