Great tracker
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Had a fit bit tracker but this one is waterproof and can be worn swimming or showering. Didn't think it was a big deal until I had it. Has been working flawlessly for over a month. Software is easy to use also. Found it is more accurate in steps and distance also.

Solid purchase
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Vivosmart HR was a solid purchase. Tracks everything you need and looks nice. I actually got a couple compliments on how it looks. Look might be suited for a man's wrist though, a little bigger than the competitors.

Excellent for water workout
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I wanted a tracker that would record all my steps....especially when I'm in the pool. This Garmin Vivosmart HR is the best! It records all my steps and movements and does not clear or restart like a previous tracker I owned. And I love the heart rate monitor as well!

Great activity tracker.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My first activity tracker was the original Garmin Vivofit. No complaints there. But, I wanted to upgrade once I saw that trackers now had a heart rate monitor in them. I reviewed many trackers. I chose to stay with Garmin because of the quality I had experienced with my first tracker. I had my eye on this particular tracker for awhile. Originally it sold for $149.99. The price dropped twice, $129.99, then $119.00. I still didn't buy it. But, when it went on sale on Black Friday weekend for $69.99 I just had to buy it. What a deal! I read the online instruction manual and though I am no tech geek I found it very easy to figure out how to use this tracker. There are so many things you can do with this tracker. I like that going through Garmin Connect online you can set it up/personalize it how you want to. I like it's sleek look, and, that it has a buckle band(won't fall off). I like the added stairs climbed and heart rate monitor. I only have two minor complaints.....my first tracker, the Vivofit, had batteries that were to last 1 year-they lasted 17 months before I had to replace them. I never had to charge the Vivofit. I've found that this new tracker lasts about 5 days before I have to charge it. Not bad. Also, my first tracker had a wireless sync to my computer via an ant stick. This new tracker requires that you remove it and plug the tracker via cable into the computer. As I said these are minor complaints. I must say that I do not have a smartphone, so, I don't even use half of the features this new tracker has. Overall, I love this Vivosmart tracker and would highly recommend it.

Great fitness watch with lots of extras
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great for keeping you moving and active. Love that it buzzes you if you haven't moved in an hour. Keeps track of you steps, # flights of stairs climbed, heart rate, and even sleep patterns. Easy to use. I usually charge it while I am in the shower. Heart rate is good to see especially during exercise. Has special activity for walking, running, cycling and cardio activities. It really makes me want to keep moving and active.

Bet on the market
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We reviewed and tried many other brands. Fit bit was too small to read and did not provide the function of this Garmin HR. Touch and swipe screen is awesome! Synchs to app works great!

Decent product, but has flaws...
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After doing some research on step trackers with built-in heart rate functionality. We decided to treat each other with the the Garmin VivoFit HR for Christmas because it did not require the additional chest strap, it integrates with myFitnessPal, plus the software seemed fairly straight forward. After using it for a couple of weeks we noticed that even though we were walking together... My wife's unit was tracking more steps than mine.. So we measured our steps and calibrated both of our Vivofit HR's according to Garmin's wiki pages and support team. Still the same result so we set them both back to factory default and switched bands with each other... Now mine has more steps than hers so we know it's not a hand-waiving/stride difference as Garmin support has tried to convince us is the issue on three occasions. As a side note, i also track our steps on my iPhone which matches what it should be. On average the difference is 10,000 steps on my wife's unit is only 7,000 steps on mine which is a HUGE difference when you are matching stride for stride. Bottom line is that this product so close to being perfect, but just doesn't measure up to it's description and reviews.

No, I would not recommend this to a friendBrand response from GarminProductExpert
Posted .Thank you for the feedback you have provided. We are pleased to hear you chose Garmin. We understand your step count is off and you've been in contact with support about the issue. However, I want to recommend Custom Step Length: http://bit.ly/1MUpBCp. This will personalize the device for the individual. You might still see a difference, considering the step length however this will be a more accurate count. If you are still having a major gap, and your step length is the same, please contact our support team so we can take a look at the data. Contact information can be found at: www.garmin.com/us/support. Thank you. ~QKO

Good product but...
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Before purchasing this I had previously owned a couple Jawbones. They were fairly simple and accurate. I also liked the Smart Coach part of the Jawbone program. This bracelet has very little of the coaching aspect which I sometimes miss. The program that goes along with this device is very detailed and in-depth. It gives you a lot of information. A couple things I don't like about this is 1) it does not seem to count when I am active around the house, say, cooking in the kitchen where I may be taking smaller steps, but I am not sitting ! Or doing cleaning etc...the second feature that can bug me is the move alert. I cannot figure out how to turn it off. I do have days that are not as active as others and am unable to get up and move. Would be nice to not have it "nagging" me. All in all though this purchase is worth the money and I would recommend it.

Happy with it
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This garmin device is really nice. Love that you can use it in the water. Sometimes it doesn't connect to a device and the battery doesn't last as long as I would like it to but overall it is accurate.

Great Tracker!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Let's get one thing out of the way, this isn't the most attractive activity tracker you'll ever see. My previous unit (from a different company) looked like a watch until you were truly up close to it. This definitely looks like an activity tracker, and if you're okay with that, you'll be incredibly happy with this unit. As I stated previously, I had been using a unit from a different company, but a recall on their product line forced me to choose a new watch. I was adamant that my new unit be able to do everything my last one did. It had to include heart rate monitoring and it had to be waterproof. Surprisingly, it's not easy to get both in the same package, but Garmin really did a great job. Even at full price, it was cheaper than my previous watch, and despite the fact that it does not conform to a normal watch form factor, I find it to be a bit more comfortable. It tracks heart rate data, and can display your previous four hours of information. It tracks steps, flights of stairs, it can display a weather forecast, and can be used to control your music. I love it. My one grip is the long and thin display. When you receive notifications, they are sideways, forcing me to tilt my head or arm funny to read it. It's bizarre looking when you do that while running. I've also had a few issues with bluetooth connection, though this is rare. This is a great everyday tracker, and if you are in the market for something that does a little of everything, but won't cost you an arm and a leg, I'd say this one is perfect.
