Garmin Devices are great items
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Purchased as a Mother's Day gift for my daughter. She wanted something to track her steps and sleep patterns. Since I had purchased a Garmin Vivoactive HR last year for myself and liked it. My daughter LOVES her Vivosmart HR it does what she wanted it for.

Band is a great motivator to get up and move
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Overall great band...once Garmin get the intensity minutes fixed, it will be a lot better. Just remember the wrist based heart rate is not really accurate. I would recommend a heart rate chest strap for people that really monitor that during a workout.

Posted .Thank you for your review. We're happy to hear you're enjoying the band overall and did want to address some points of concern.
We are working on improvements to the Intensity Minutes feature, with regard to detection when performing activities outside of walking or running. You can expect a software update addressing this in the near future.
For more detailed information on Intensity Minutes, please see the following from our FAQ's: http://support.garmin.com/support/searchSupport/simpleCase.htm?caseId={85ed4ff0-8ec2-11e5-4cfe-000000000000}&kbName=garmin
With regard to the wrist-based heart rate, the optical heart rate sensor uses light to penetrate your skin and estimate your heart rate. This allows you to get heart rate information without the need for an external sensor. To ensure the best possible accuracy, Please follow the below guidelines:
* Ensure the device is snug tight to the point it cannot move up and down your wrist but not so tight as to limit circulation
* Wear watch on outside of wrist, away from wrist bone
* Avoid wearing it over dark tattoos
* Ensure watch software is up to date (update with Garmin Express, if needed)
* Ensure green lights (LED's) are functioning
The optical wrist heart rate monitor for Garmin wearables is a valuable tool that can provide an accurate estimation of the user’s heart rate at any given point in time.
While the technology is state of the art, as with any wrist-based heart rate, there are inherent limitations with the technology that may cause some of the heart rate readings to be inaccurate under certain circumstances. These circumstances include the user’s physical characteristics, the fit of the device, and the type and intensity of the activity. The heart rate monitor data is not intended to be used for medical purposes, nor is it intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease or condition.
If after following the above guidelines, you're finding inaccuracies outside of the circumstances mentioned above, please reach out to Garmin product support so we can investigate and help. Our contact information and hours can be found here: www.garmin.com/support
We will continue to monitor performance, and offer updates and enhancements to the vívosmart HR as well as the optical heart rate sensor, so be sure to keep your software up to date.
We value and appreciate your feedback. Thanks again! *CG

I like it
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My Garmin Vivosmart HR is actually what I expected after doing a bit of research before my purchase. It does everything that it's suppose to, but the heart rate monitor can be a bit off at times. I say that because as I was doing HIIT training one day, and my heart was beating like I was being chased by 7 lions, the monitor read at around 87-88. I knew it was much higher but ok. The other features are good and the HR monitor seems to be accurate sometimes (after using separate monitors along with it) but it's not a deal breaker. It's a good buy for the price!

Good Product
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.this activity tracker replaced the Striiv Fusion Bio HR that I had (battery did not hold the charge). besides the basic features like the Striiv, this watch allowed me to add cell phone notifications for 3rd party apps like KakaoTalk and Line. it was easy to set up and syncs well with my android smart phone. get the replacement plan - it's worth the 20.00 for 2 years.

Great quality for price
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased the original FitBit long time ago and took it back the next day as I felt it was just a step counter. This unit includes a lot of features for the price point. It's rugged and durable. The heart rate feature is great but the only reason it's getting 4 stars is that the two heart rate contact points can sometimes push into your skin and cause a little discomfort mostly while sleeping or lying or your hand. Otherwise a great product.

Great Activity Tracker
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I spent a lot of time looking for a good activity tracker. This one consistently came up in almost every top 10 as the one to get. It'll never beat a chest strap and isn't what you'll want for hard core training and workouts but for the casual user it's perfect. The main selling point for me was the GPS tracker for my running more than the heart rate but if you run off of distance and cadence that this is a bit off +/- on heart rate isn't a big deal. The way I see it the baseline is what it is and you can see if you're getting better based on that. So if its a few beats off then it always is and if you're heart rate is improving then its improving. For every day use and casual running I've found it to be almost dead on. The move indicator/reminder is a nice feature that gets you to move around and it's nice to do some challenges with others through Garmin connect.

Does exactly what it says it does
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Love my Garmin. The app is very easy to use and the device is lightweight and I can hardly notice I’m wearing it. It is very accurate with the step tracking and it fully charges in less than 2 hours and lasts 4 - 5 days between charging.

Great product but lacks a little comfort
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this as a gift for a friend and for the few first days she loved it. It has great features such as the step monitor, heart rate monitor, the notifications from your phone and really good battery life. But what it makes up for in features, it lacks in comfort. I ended up returning because she said it wasn't very comfortable to wear all day. We tried both and sizes but same result. My thoughts are the heart rate monitor could be smaller or more ergonomically designed to be more comfortable. Other than that great product.

It does what is marketed
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have been looking for a multi-functional watch that would track my heart beat. I wish they had one size smaller because my wrist is too small and I don't think it has contact with my wrist at all times to truly keep track of my heart beat.
