First we want to make sure your device is worn on snug tight, just not too tight that it cuts into your circulation. To follow up, Climbing stairs or running/walking on a grade of 8% or greater will trigger the Stairs Climbed Feature. Ten feet of elevation change equals one flight of stairs climbed even if this is accomplished at different times throughout the day. If you are getting a miscalculated count despite the ten feet elevation change please contact our support team (www.garmin.com/us/support).

Ultimately this one was affordable and you don't have to wear a wire for the hr monitor. Easy app and set up. I recommend over more expensive models I tried before this.

It doesn't allow you to connect to music players other than iTunes (no Spotify). Battery life is great and step tracking is ok!

Good watch for tracking exercise

The selling point for me is that it is waterproof, no need to take off when fishing, boating or doing dishes. Keeps good track of our exercising. I could never get it to sink to the Garmin app though so that's why I put 4 stars.

I love the features of heart rate monitoring, reaching my daily goals, and of course step and stair counting. You can customize your stride to make it even more accurate. It pairs with my smart phone via blue tooth. It is very helpful that I can start/stop my music from my Garmin, and receive notifications on it as well. I highly recommend this product!

Synced with smartphone, I get local weather, text messages, music and phone control. All information from sleep and other activities are available on phone app.

Went swimming and the waterproof feature so far is working. The only thing I'm not crazy about is the strap. After awhile it becomes uncomfortable for me. Otherwise it's a great device

Better off with cheaper version

The heart rate feature seems to work ok, but the stairs climbed feature is garbage. It just doesn't work. Overall I'm disappointed in the $ spent and wish I had just bought the cheaper version instead.

My first one failed after 8 months, the second one the screen started peeling off in layers. This last one has lasted a while. The good news is that Garmin replaced then very easily under warranty.
