Also, sales personell assistance excellent as usual. Only negative both the purple and blue bands too dark and look like black but I wanted the product so settled for the purple. That is why I rated 4 instead of 5.

So I decided to return this product and will try one with a color screen. If you want a waterproof non color screen then this is for you. Also need one with a watch face with second hand. But this fitness tracker is one of the comfortable ones that I tried on.

When used with Garmon connect and my fitness pal you have more information than you can use. the cons the battery life is shorter than I want and the screen could use more contrast. you need to keep dust out of the back of it so it can read stairs.

When it broke I replaced it with the Garmin Vivosmart HR because it had the same features but was also waterproof for swimming and the reviews for it were good. Comparing the two the Garmin Vivosmart HR has some cool "above and beyond" features, but it's basic functionality is lacking. It is not accurate or consistent in measuring steps, flights, calories or intensity minutes. It is not very good at recognizing swimming/running/sports. The app/website do not display much useful information. And it does not sync with my phone or computer without me explicitly telling it to. Bottom line: I've tried both and the Fitbit Charge is MUCH better.

Software Update Failure...turns bluetooth off permanently...makes device unable to connect to any phone or software in future. Garmin aware of problem and said their engineers are working on it...said I could try swapping for new device but couldn't say for sure if I would have same problem again. Buyer Beware..at least for the next few weeks it would seem. Must return watch to try again, per Garmin...and said at least a week away from a fix. They couldn't even guarantee that if they shipped me a replacement directly from Garmin that it would work properly at this time..seriously not ready for prime time.

I am disappointed that you need a newer version of Bluetooth to tramnsmitt data to a smartphone. Too bad this cannot be done with WIFI or the standard Bluetooth system. There are some features I cannot use because of this. Otherwise I do enjoy the product and use the feature I can.
