This old style top load model was not my first choice. But given the space limitations and configuration in my daughters apartment, this was the only choice.

Way too many settings. If you really are that detailed about washing your clothes maybe this would be right for you. Im old. I like to keep it simple.

washer makes a "windshield wiper" noise while in the spinning cycle. already returned it once and got a new one and again the same thing. it is very loud and annoying

This GE Machine is not reliable. I purchased one in 2021 and I've had 6 Service Calls to-todate and Assurion refuses to replace the mackine. They keep ordering parts and nothing works. My tenant keeps threatening to withhold rent. Delivery waa ridiculous - the dtiver refused to bring tje machine up ONE flight of stairs and without saying anything looked at the stairs and drove off. When we called Best Buy, one rep told us to buy another type of machine so it would be easier for the tech to carry up the stairs. It took 4 calls before another rep asked the delivery company to bring additional delivery guy. It took me hours to resolve the delivery issue and the delivery was cancelled 2 times by Best Buy's delivery team until i got my mackine. It was unbelievable. Service waa horrible.

I purchased this washer/dryer combo for two reasons: one, I live in a rental and I didn't want to pay a lot. Two, it fit in the closet that was built for a washer/dryer in 2001. Most current stackable washer/dryers are too large for the space I have. It is true that top loaders do not clean as well as front loaders and they use a lot of water. I regret purchasing this combo for those reasons. The worst thing about this combo is the fact that no matter what I put in it, it is always off balance. I am constantly having to rearrange my loads for the washer to spin and drain. Sometimes I even have to run the spin and drain cycle multiple times. For such a large washer, you would think you would be able to wash large items or bigger loads. As for the dryer, it is a large dryer and dries well. I wish there was an option for just air drying. To end, I am very unhappy with this purchase and I can't wait until the day I own a home so I can buy a decent washer and dryer.
