We want to help you with your washer not agitating your clothes properly and their smell. We recommend making sure you are loading your items evenly and loosely around the outside of the basket, filling in towards the center on larger loads. This will make sure that the unit stays in balance. You can find additional information on the article titled "Top Load Washer - Wet Clothes Concerns" on the GE Appliances website.

To help with your clothing smell, we recommend using High Efficiency detergents such as Tide PODS™ and liquid detergents while following the instructions labeled on the packaging. High Efficiency detergents are formulated to work with low water wash and rinse systems.

Your new washer may sound different from your prior unit because of the newer technology. Clicks, water flowing, gear sounds followed by pauses, and electric hum sounds are all part of the normal wash cycle.

This is a high-efficiency washing machine which requires less water while providing effective cleaning action. You may notice that the water level is lower than on your previous washer and may not cover the top level of the clothes. This is normal. -- To improve wash performance, use the correct amount and type of detergent, load carefully, and select the right amount of water and settings for your load size. Thanks so much for your purchase. This is a really nice washer, and we want you to be happy with your washing results. We recommend trying the Power Clean cycle along with Deep Fill and Deep Rinse to see if that helps. Our new washers do sound different than older washers. You'll hear clicks, water flowing, gear sounds followed by pauses, and electric hum sounds. If you view the manual on page 24, you'll see a QR code that you can scan to hear all the different sounds that are normal.
