There are many sounds associated with washers; however if your washer is noisy there may be a simple solution. We recommend following the troubleshooting suggestions in the support article titled: "Top Load Washer - Walking or Vibrating" on the GE Appliances website.

Most large comforters and blankets will wash properly in our washers, as long as the comforter fits below the balance ring of the washer tub and is not stuffed in the tub tightly. With all washers, some level of noise is normal. However, it is important to level your washer as it prevents the washer from excessive vibration when in use. When leveling a washer, make sure to level both front to back and side to side by adjusting the four leveling legs. Also note that the more the legs are extended, the shakier the washer will be during operation. -- We recommend checking out the “Sounds” section on page 28 of your Owner’s Manual for descriptions of noises you can expect with this model. The Owner’s Manual can be viewed at the bottom of the Features tab on the Best Buy product page. -- If your washer is making abnormal noises, we recommend scheduling service online by visiting the GE Appliances website or by calling 1-800-432-2737.

We'd like to help go over the sounds you are noticing with your new washer. We recommend checking to make sure that your washer is completely level to the ground, as this helps prevent excessive vibrations and out of balance conditions. When the washer is not leveled it can also cause louder operational sounds, due to the spin cycle overcompensating. We'd like to help out with your washer getting out of balance. We recommend checking to make sure that your unit is completely level to the ground, as this can help tremendously with balancing the load and prevent excessive vibrations. It also helps with the sensor and detecting the soil level, which relates to cycles knowing when to end. Your new washer may sound different from your prior unit because of the newer technology. Clicks, water flowing, gear sounds followed by pauses, and electric hum sounds are all part of the normal wash cycle.
