Our priority is to offer complete customer satisfaction for all our customers. The antenna may be over amplifying the signal, meaning that it’s giving it to much power and it’s missing the towers. Your antenna has a built-in amplifier that you can manually turn On/Off located on the back of the antenna. First, make sure that the antenna is fully extended on each end. This will allows the antennas dipoles to be fully extended for better reception. Note: The antenna must be connected to the TV and connected to a power source at all time in order for the antenna to function properly. We recommend turning off the In-line amplifier and rescan for channels. We bought 3 of them for TVs in 3 different rooms in our home. None of them worked even as good as the RCA units we had hoped they could replace. We re-installed the RCA units. These GE units claim to be Amplified Antennas...... what a waste of money. I would not recommend the GE UltraPro Bar HD 400 Indoor Amplified Antenna to anyone. We are very dissatisfied with this product.

Where you locate the antenna in the room can affect the strength of the signal that you receive. Positioning the antenna as high as possible or near a window can help provide the best reception and maximize the number of channels you receive.
You can also use a website like www.tvfool.com to find the kind of channels that are available in your area. This will also show the direction your signals are coming from and position the antenna where it is facing toward the broadcast tower. Make sure that you scan your TV for channels every time you reposition your antenna. This is a very important step to receive your channels.
