Customers are saying

Customers regard the UltraPro Bar HD 400 Indoor Amplified Antenna favorably for its picture quality and ease of use, with many also appreciating its compact size and attractive design. However, a significant number of users reported issues with reception and signal strength, leading to some dissatisfaction. While some found the channel selection adequate, others felt the price point was not justified by the performance. The antenna's setup was generally considered straightforward.

Hello Smithjerryd, we are very sorry to hear about your recent unsatisfactory experience you had with our product. In reading your review, we would like to have the opportunity to work with you directly and help you get more channels. As the manufacturer, we continuously strive to maintain high quality products that provide complete customer satisfaction.

The number of channels you receive will depend on the signals provided by your local stations in your area. This is something we have no control over. Antenna reception range is based on a line of sight signal path from the TV broadcast towers to your home. Several factors can limit reception range at your location. Some of these are mountainous and hilly terrain, obstructions in the signal path and metal construction materials. To ensure you receive the maximum number of channels you may want to experiment re-positioning the antenna. For best antenna reception the ends of the antenna must me fully extended. Place the antenna as high as possible or near a window. You can use www.antennaweb.org to look for the DTV reception maps to determine the available stations and location of the broadcast towers in your area. Make sure to scan your TV for channels. This is a very important step. Your TV will NOT receive signals from the antenna without doing a channel scan. If you continue to receive poor TV reception, the antenna may be over amplifying the signal. Switch the amplifier to OFF position and rescan your channels.

If the problem persists, please contact our Consumer Care team between the hours of 7AM – 8PM Central Standard Time, Monday thru Friday at 1-800-654-8483, press option 4, and provide our Tech Specialist with your personal ticket number 359678, so that we can resolve your issue promptly. If you’d prefer to email, our contact is [email protected] and please include your personal ticket number (359678) in the subject line. Thank you and have a great day! GETechSupport

Hello LuiG, Thank you for reaching out to us regarding our GE Ultra Pro Bar HD Antenna. We apologize that you are having problems getting reception with your antenna. Our priority is to offer complete customer satisfaction for all our customers. Depending on your location regarding terrain, elevation, etc. and depending on the location of the transmitters for your local stations will determine in large part, the type of antenna required to pull in the stations. Both your general location and the specific area that the antenna is located can affect reception. The distance, terrain and obstacles (buildings, power lines, etc.) between you and the signal tower greatly affect the strength of the signal that reaches you. Where you locate the antenna in the room can also affect the strength of the signal that you receive. In general the higher you locate the antenna the better signal you will get. You can use a website like www.tvfool.com to find the direction your signals are coming from and locate the antenna closer to that direction. If you have any more questions, please give us a call at 1-800-654-8483 option 1 and provide our Support Team with your ticket number 256205. We are eager to work together with you to get the best out of our product and help you with your concerns. We look forward to hearing from you. GETechSupport

I was excited to be able to get even a few channels in my guest room which lacks a cable connection. Unfortunately this product didn't get me even one channel although I live in central/east Phoenix not all that far from the towers at South Mountain. Best Buy was great when I returned it.

To receive different station the antennae must be moved to a different direction. Most GE products are outstanding. The reason I purchased the GE Antennae was because of GE's overall excellent products. The GE Antenna did not meet GE Quality I am familiar with.

Hi TedsReview, thank you for your review. We apologize that our product did not meet and exceed your expectations. As the manufacturer, we continuously strive to maintain high quality products that provide complete customer satisfaction.

You are correct; To ensure you receive the maximum number of channels you may want to experiment re-positioning the antenna. All our antennas undergo quality standards and performance testing before going to the market. The number of channels you receive will depend on the signals provided by your local stations in your area. This is something we have no control over. You can use www.antennaweb.org to look for the DTV reception maps to determine the available stations and location of the broadcast towers in your area. Then position the antenna where it is facing toward the tower. Make sure to scan your TV for channels. This is a very important step.
