Hello Kipling, Thank you for reaching out to us regarding our GE UltraPro Bar Amplified Antenna. We’re sorry to hear that you’re experiencing signal issues with our product. Our priority is to offer complete customer satisfaction for all our customers. As the manufacturer, we are very interested in supplying consumers with a quality product that delivers the expected performance. Anytime we hear problems encountered in the use of one of our products, we want to get involved and resolve the difficulties the best we can. First, make sure that the antenna is fully extended on each end. This will allow the antennas dipoles to be fully extended for better reception. The antenna must be connected to the TV and connected to a power source at all times in order for the antenna to function properly. Once these steps are complete we suggest you run another channel scan. If you are still not able to access any channels, your antenna may be over amplifying the signal. We recommend that you turn off the power inserter behind the antenna and rescan for channels again. You can use a website like www.tvfool.com to find the direction your signals are coming from and locate the antenna closer to that direction. If you have any more questions, please give us a call at 1-800-654-8483 option 1 and provide our Support Team with your ticket number 256732. We are eager to work together with you to get the best out of our product and help you with your concerns. We look forward to hearing from you. GETechSupport

Hello Rafael24, your feedback is greatly appreciated. We apologize that our product did not satisfy your expectations. As the manufacturer, our mission is to provide complete customer satisfaction and quality products that deliver the expected performance.

Antenna reception range is based on a line of sight signal path from the TV broadcast towers to your home. Several factors can limit reception range at your location. Some of these are mountainous and hilly terrain, obstructions in the signal path and metal construction materials. Position your antenna towards the broadcast towers for best performance. You will need to scan for channels on your TV. This is a very important step. Your TV will NOT receive signals from the antenna without doing a channel scan. We recommend that you see you TV’s menu screen for this process or refer the instruction manual that came. You can use a website like www.tvfool.com to find the direction your signals are coming from and position the antenna where it is facing toward the tower, as well as, positioning the antenna as high off the ground as you can. The repositioning will allow for optimum reception. It is important that you rescan your channels once the antenna has been repositioned.

It is a very important to repeat this process and re-scan for channels anytime you move or re-position the antenna. It is also a good practice to repeat this process from time to time in case there are changes to the available TV signals in your area. If you ever lose a channel, a re-scan may be all that is needing to pick up that station again.

If you have any other questions, please contact our Support team at 1-800-654-8483, press option 4 and provide them with your personal ticket # 325462 or email us at [email protected] and include your personal ticket number in the subject line. GETechSupport

I finally cut the satellite cord with Direct tv. I subscribed to the Sling tv app on my tv. for $40, but they didn't have local channels. So i purchased the Ultrapro 400 antenna. After it scanned it said i was getting 54 channels. But you have to keep in mind, they are mostly garbage channels in SD, not HD that i never even watched before with cable. All my 7 local channels came in beautiful HD just like direct tv. Thats all i was really concerned about. The rest of the live tv channels i like are all on my Sling tv. I probably should have stuck with a cheaper antenna since like i said, only 7 channels are really viewable, so i'm rating this only 3 stars because it is very overpriced for 7 viewable channels that i'm pretty sure would have came in just as good with a $19 antenna. Just keep in mind when ppl say 40 and 50 channels, how many will really be viewable in HD. SD should not even exist anymore. so don't expect too much.

i recently got rid of cable and only have internet since we rarely used it and it was a waste of money monthly, not to mention Verizon is not good with billing and it was just a headache every month to deal with. I bought a rocketfish flat panel "cheapo" antenna for $14.99 on sale, and it worked pretty decent, and I got about 12-15 channels, including the major networks like cbs, nbc, fox, etc. was happy. I went to best buy and was looking for a nicer looking, pricier, "better" antenna. the salesman steered me to this one. I was excited. I got home, connected everything, and reprogrammed my Samsung. awful. 2 channels. moved it around, same thing. eventually after 2 hours of positioning and rescanning, I got about 8 channels. fox 5 is the only channel that was worth having. the other 7 were channels I never heard of, showing some of the worst tv programming ive ever seen. totally unwatchable. don't waste your money. this is a complete waste. for $69.99, you think it would get at least the same channels as the $15 rocketfish one. don't buy this. don't even think twice. absolutely terrible. GE should be ashamed of themselves. oh, and im less than 25 miles from NYC in central NJ. 23.6 to be exact. this was rated for 60 miles. total lie. I put the antenna in my 2nd floor window, with a clear view of nyc's lights in the background. no trees, buildings, etc blocking the antenna reception.

    Unacceptable Performance

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

Upon setting this antenna up and running my TV's channel scan I found that, despite being 10 miles from a mid-sized city with no terrain features to block my signal, this thing could only find, at best, 5 channels, zero of which were any of the major networks that I actually want to watch. While moving the unit around to experiment with different positions I found performance dropped further, sometimes finding only 2 channels. Of the channels the antenna DID find, the signal would only hold for no more than 5-10 seconds before being dropped, regardless of which channel I was watching. I feel that, given my location, I could at least expect it to find the standard local channels, all of which are well within the advertised range. Because it can't accomplish even that I find this antenna to be almost useless and will continue searching for a different product.

I live in the Chicago area (south suburbs) and have been back and forth at least 5 times buying different antennas. I now have a perfect picture. Even Channel 2 which was almost impossible to view with other antennas. I did have to re-scan the channels because there are more channel 2's. I also have not seen any pixilation on any channels as I did on all of the other antennas I have tried. I highly recommend this over any of the other. The people at Best Buy did not suggest this one because it was possibly new and they didn't have any information on it.

    Disappointing performance

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

First of all, I do not see how in this day and age we seem to be able to pull in fewer channels with thus better technology than we did with good old rabbit ears. Perhaps my experience is just different than others. I just don't know. This amplified antenna is rated for 69 miles. I am unfortunately unable to pull in the channels I want, the local NBC, CBS and Fox stations specifically. These stations are less than half the distance from me than the max range listed on this antenna. It also feels flimsy to me, with a very thin combination power/"coax" cord. I am in Florida so there aren't mountains. Yes, there are trees in my neighborhood but if this technology can't get through some trees, I'm not impressed. I did give it two stars because it did give me a handful of channels, just not the ones that were most important to me. This might work for some who are in the most ideal of locations, but it did not work for me. I will be returning this item and look for a new solution.

I've tried many antennas. Was really excited for this one and it didn't pull anymore channels then a $10 antenna I have. I was able to get 9 channels and 3 were in Spanish. None of the major local channels. I'm 30 miles from the city. Very disappointed.
