However, a significant number of users reported issues with reception and signal strength, leading to some dissatisfaction. While some found the channel selection adequate, others felt the price point was not justified by the performance. The antenna's setup was generally considered straightforward.

    Ugh!!!

Purchased this antenna because it was supposed to grab channels at 60 miles. It grabbed TWO at about 40 miles and those weren't really working either. Thought maybe it was the television and so I switched with my other that has a 40 mile reach. This time I got "no channels found." Took it back and got a Mohu Arc for half the price and got 30+ channels. The wire is very thin and you can't change it. Nice design that will match the "entertainment" look. But didn't work for me.

Hi Smithy, thank you for reaching out to us regarding our GE UltraPro Bar HD 400 indoor Amplified Antenna. We are very sorry to hear about your recent unsatisfactory experience you had with our product. As the manufacturer, our mission is to provide complete customer satisfaction and quality products that deliver the expected performance. We would love to work with you directly to resolve the issue, so you can enjoy our products to their full potential.
Depending on your location regarding terrain, elevation, etc. and depending on the location of the transmitters for your local stations will determine in large part, the type of antenna required to pull in the stations. Both your general location and the specific area that the antenna is located can affect reception. The distance, terrain and obstacles (buildings, power lines, etc.) between you and the signal tower greatly affect the strength of the signal that reaches you. Where you locate the antenna in the room can also affect the strength of the signal that you receive. First, make sure that the antenna is fully extended on each end. This will allow the antennas dipoles to be fully extended for better reception. The antenna must be connected to the TV and connected to a power source at all times in order for the antenna to function properly. Once these steps are complete we suggest you run another channel scan. If you are still not able to access any channels, your antenna may be over amplifying the signal. We recommend that you switch the amplifier to the OFF position behind the antenna and rescan for channels again. You can use a website like www.tvfool.com to find the direction your signals are coming from and position the antenna where it is facing toward the tower, as well as, positioning the antenna as high off the ground as you can. The repositioning will allow for optimum reception.

I bought this to catch CW which was 66 miles away from my place and this thing just picked it up easily and HD quality (1080p). Didn't worry about placing on a top even, kept near a window. I highly recommend it, and quite good for the price.

Works really well. My previous antenna was mediocre so I decided to pick up this one and now all of my channels are very clear. You have to plug in the USB portion and the HDMI piece for the antenna to work optimally. Good buy!

I have tried several antenna's prior to buying the GE Ultra Pro Barr HD 400. I seldom loose the picture and then its because of an very bad storm. I would recommend this antenna if you are looking for performance and dependability.

Expensive product with minimal results. I live 20 miles from the center of a major north east city. Antenna yielded less than 25 viewable channels some of which were duplicate broadcasts. I had an old 8” “whip” antenna from a 15 year old mini portable TV that pulled in more channels. Don’t bother with this thing. It doesn’t work.

Hi Will, thank you for reaching out to us regarding our GE UltraPro Bar HD 400 indoor Amplified Antenna. We’re sorry to hear that you’re experiencing signal issues with our product. . As the manufacturer, we are very interested in supplying consumers with a quality product that delivers the expected performance. Anytime we hear problems encountered in the use of one of our products, we want to get involved and resolve the difficulties the best we can.
The Antenna may be over amplifying the signal. Based on your current location, from the towers providing signals, your antenna might be receiving too much power causing it to miss the signal. Make sure that the antennas dipoles are fully extended. This will allow the antenna to receive the close range reception. Turn off the built in amplifier located on the back of the antenna. You can use a website like www.tvfool.com to find the direction your signals are coming from and position the antenna where it is facing toward the tower, as well as, positioning the antenna as high off the ground as you can. The repositioning will allow for optimum reception. You will need to rescan your channels once the antenna has been repositioned.
If the problem persist, please contact our Support team at 1-800-654-8483, press option 4 and provide our Support Team with your personal ticket # 285173. This antenna is powered by USB so it is very convenient when it's hooked up to your TV's USB port as when you turn it on it powers on by itself.

Purchased this antenna this evening. Brought it home hooked it up did a channel search everything looked fine picked up 32 channels. Thought it was great until I stood up there went the signal. Had to turn the amplifier off and back on again to get the channel back. I have a Leaf 30 hooked to a TV in my basement that works better. I will be returning this tomorrow.

This was our 4th antenna and by far the best one! More channels, better quality and the interruptions are much less compared to other antennas. Worth every penny! We have a floating shelf above the tv and this is so sleek that it just sits behind the photos on the shelf.

I have a room in the basement that I work out in and getting reception is not easy. I thought, since this is a powered antenna, that it would draw in my basic channels better than my $10 cheap antennna. It actually did worse. Returned

Hello Frustrated, thank you for sharing your review and the details on the issues you have experienced. Please accept our sincerest apology for this unsatisfactory experience you had with our product.

The Antenna reception range is based on a line of sight signal path from the TV broadcast towers to your home. Obstructions in the signal path such as metal construction materials, concrete and dry wall can disrupt the signal. To ensure you receive the maximum number of channels you may want to experiment re-positioning the antenna. For best antenna reception the ends of the antenna must me fully extended. Place the antenna as high as possible or near a window. You can use www.antennaweb.org to look for the DTV reception maps to determine the available stations and location of the broadcast towers in your area. Make sure to scan your TV for channels. This is a very important step. Your TV will NOT receive signals from the antenna without doing a channel scan. If you continue to receive poor TV reception, the antenna may be over amplifying the signal. Switch the amplifier to OFF position and rescan your channels.

I got tired of paying the cable company for channels that I never watch, and have purchased two antennas in the past few months. They work really well and give me the local channels that I need. These coupled with Roku make me a happy camper!

Bought this hoping the amplifier would help get stations in my garage, at best, 3 channels. OK, figured I'd see if it would do better upstairs in the living room. It does, and it claims to find 28 channels! HOWEVER, only about 15 of those actually come in, and I was getting the exact same 15 out of my $8 Unamplified rabbit ear HD antenna. Save yourself some money, going cheap will get you just as many channels!

    "60 mile range" not true

Fayetteville 28304. I get channels from both Raleigh/Durham & Myrtle Beach with current antenna. Both are about 50 miles from me. But, missing a couple of channels. Hooked this one up, with amp on and off, and got many FEWER channels. So much for "60 mile" range. Back to store.
