Works great with the Note 4

I got this along with a Note 4 and love it. Hardly have to take my phone out of my pocket now. You can choose which notifications you want pushed to the watch. The speaker phone feature works great, just wished it was a little bit louder.

    Awesome Smart Watch

Great watch, no complaints. I use my watch daily and the Battery life is very long. Sound quality is perfect. Some people may think toggling on such a small screen may be hard but it's actually very simple and not troublesome at all. This watch is a must have!

    Best smart watch thus far

The Galaxy Gear Neo is my 3rd smart watch, and is defiantly the best of the 3 I have owned, but like any new technology it still has room for improvement. I went with the Neo over the Gear 2 based on the ~2mp camera on the Gear 2. $100 did not seem worth it for such a poor quality camera. I can certainly see the appel, with two kids I don’t always have time to get my phone out, but the quality just wasn't there to justify it. The color touch screen is what made my trade in my Pebble Steele for a Gear. The touch is intuitive, and very easy to use. The ability to swap the watch bands with a wide selection of standard bands from any watch or jewelry store put the gear above the Moto 360 in my book. The Pebble had a much better battery life, which I expected considering the Pebble uses a non-touch E-Ink display. This however was not a deal breaker for me considering I take my watch off every night when I go to bed anyway. The battery on my Neo typically lasts 2 – 3 days between charges (with about 20% remaining when I put it on the charger) depending on use. The availability of a replacement charger may become an issue in the future, my local Best Buy has plenty of Pebble chargers in stock, but I have never seen a Gear charger. Additionally the charger for the Gear uses a micro-usb, however I have found that if you are not using a Samsung original USB AC adapter the watch will not charge. I have tried using a Rocketfish, Insignia, Belkin and 2 different Apple adapters, all with different outputs, some the same or greater than the Samsung and none of them worked. The cable it’s self doesn’t matter. As a point of information all of those adapters charged my S5 with no issue, so I’m not sure what’s going on there. I had originally traded my Pebble for a Gear Live. Having to talk to my watch every time I wanted to use it just turned my completely off. At the time (about a month ago) it was not compatible with S Health, with was also a deal breaker for me, as I was also using a FitBit Flex with my Pebble, and lost this feature with the Gear Live. The main reason I gave the Neo 4 stars instead of 5 is the limited number of Apps. This is obviously not a hardware issue and will be evolving over the next few months, but at the moment will cost this item a star.

This is a solid product. Wrist band is very comfortable. Overall, very easy to use. Nice to be able to see notifications without having to get out my phone. Pedometer count is a little high but does a decent job. It tends to count some wrist movement as steps, but not most. Very useful tracking exercise in conjunction with Galaxy S5 phone. Writing this almost a year after purchasing it has held up well. Still very responsive. Some discoloration on metal band at bottom where my wrist rests on my desk but I can easily overlook that.

Very capable device as long as you know that you must stay in range of your phone to receive notices and that responding to messages requires 3rd party software and that deletion of message on watch does not delete from phone. All other functions operate as described and wonderfully.

I got this for my mom for Christmas. wasn't sure if she would like it, she not tech savy. when she started seeing all of the features it had she loved it. the technology is still new so its not perfect. its not like the fitbit, where it does not automatically know what your doing. you have to start the sleep track and exercise tracker yourself. personally I think this makes it more accurate.

    Love, love, love it... But...

My wife got this watch as a Christmas gift for me. I really like it. I love it. But, buyer beware : it's a $200 plastic watch. Get the extended warranty!! It's only been 5 months, and the plastic posts that hold the band to the watch snapped off today. Because, well heck, they are plastic. My wife had purchased the extended warranty, so we are good.

With this watch, things like calling and texting are convenient. I can check my texts without taking out my phone. I do like the pedometer. I can use this watch as my exercise watch. Since it's a watch I can use it whenever I want.

    great watch with shortcomings

All in all this is a great watch.. but it has a couple problems you should be aware of. The first is the wristband. It's the type that has a folding latch rather than the conventional "belt" type. That made it hard to fit my hand through. It's also WAY to short for people with large hands and wrists. Mine broke in a week, but A generic large sized replacement band worked just fine. The second problem is a biggie. The contacts for the charging/data connector are on the back, where it contacts the skin. After a couple months, sweat has corroded and pitted the pins to the point it will no longer charge. Meaning my $200 watch is now useless. Functionality-wise I had no complaints. It's a great watch, and has a LOT of really cool apps available. Which is why the faults are such a disappointment.

    So, this thing has everything.

I am the first to review this product. Yes, me... Little ole me, the person that NEVER buys something as soon as it is released. BUT the reason why i am writing a review about this is because i am one of the first to buy the thing. I have been doing extensive research to try to find the right smart watch for my daily activity. I purchased a cheap fitness watch last year, and I love the tar out of it. it tells me how many steps i have taken in a day and estimates how many calories i have burned through the course of the day as well... it also keeps track of my week so i can scroll back and take a look at everything, on top of all of those great things, it tells time and can be taken with me into a pool or a shower or a toilet bowl after i drop my tooth brush into it. I love it, but the fact of the mater is, its a bit dated and I wanted something that can answer my calls and where i can read texts or work emails while out running around trying to be sexy. After all the research I did between the pebble and bitfit and all else... i realized that this new thing, this gear 2 neo was exactly what i wanted. there is a way to store all your workouts on your devices and synch them so there is no worry about losing anything, you can keep track of your heart rate continuously and it is much more attractive than the other fitness watches on the market. so i go it, and so far i am happy with it. i am aware that this could all change, but for the moment i wanted to share in my glee, and this watch here is the one for me.

    still new tech

The smartwatch tech is still Gen 1 IMO. I bought this just to play with something new. Turns out that the Neo is more ready than I thought. I am still skeptical of app availability but hey its not like the thing is designed to play twister on that small screen. I will have fun for now and trade up for something else next year. in the mean time... darn good stuff. good job Samsung.

Great updates from the original Galaxy Gear

I upgraded from the original Galaxy Gear to the Gear 2 Neo, the Gear 2 is much lighter and doesn't appear as large and bulky. The power button relocation to the bottom of the screen has been great, and also being water resistant is nice when you are washing your hands without worrying about killing the watch. The IR LED works great for the TV and Satellite box, but it has rather limited functionality. The Pedometer seems to be fairly accurate, I've noticed you need to pause the function when you are driving to avoid false counts.

i had the first gear smart watch and really enjoyed it for the most part but it seems all of my minor complaints were address in the gear 2 neo. the watch on app is awesome even though it's limit but the fact that i can turn off my tv without searching for the remote is nice. I can run without my phone now because i can pair the watch to my headset and add music to watch all without have to use my phone for music and for only $199.99 this smart watch is highly recommended.

Bought this for my dad his computer illiterate and he's been in love with it since he's had it. Gets a great range so he can leave his phone in his locker and use it when he's working.

S Voice is hit or miss. When it does work it takes a long time to react to your voice command. Texting is very difficult. Wish that text messages would pop up so you could read them just by lifting your wrist up to your face. You have to use your hand to read every text. So not much handsfree. Battery life is good.I can go an entire day and still have about 60% left. For the price it is a good first smartphone for anybody.

    Great Tech device

I am total Tech Geek as well as always up to date latest tech news. I heard about the new Gear line up and wasn't sure what to expect, but when I saw the Gear fit I knew I had to have it. But then when I saw the Gear 2 Neo for the same price and way more functionality...it was a no brainer for me. Not only do I have a very sleek, stylish as well as Stealth looking black watch. But I have the power of fully customizing it to my liking as well as side loading music, pictures and more with the 4 gigs of space on it is great. To me being able to make it truly mine means everything to me. Hypoallergenic band, water resistant and dust proof make it that much more awesome. But to be able to make, receive, answer and reject calls, texts, as well as view notifications for my email accounts and facebook...that's Flipping just flipping awesome.
