A true masterpiece! What an amazing game to end off the PS4! Sucker Punch really outdid themselves with this one. Everything about this game is brilliant. The history, the combat, how each side quest isn't a copy/paste of the previous one - they are all unique. Could use a little texture work but other than that the graphics are so colorful and vivid.
GOTY hopeful!!!! On a more personal note; it's refreshing this game had no hidden agenda and the fact that the advertisement wasn't a blatant lie like many game companies are doing now days.

One of the best games I’ve ever played! The graphics are top notch, the gameplay is solid and the story is deep and well written. The environments in this game are the most beautiful I’ve seen on PS4. I found myself stopping frequently to observe the scenery and take screenshots.
I’ve always loved samurai stories and am a huge fan of games like Onimusha. I liked Sekiro but I gotta say...Ghost of Tsushima far surpasses it IMO. Sucker Punch did an outstanding job on this game and I really hope to see a sequel.

Best Playstation Game of 2020

Ghost of Tsushima is most certainly the best PS exclusive game to come out in 2020, possibly the best game of 2020 in general. Though its story and gameplay can be described as "simple" or "unoriginal", they are incredibly refined in their presentation. The gameplay is some of the most intuitive and fluent to date, while the story is both engaging and well constructed.

Possibly one of the best looking environments in a game I've ever played. Significant portion of my playtime has been spent in photo mode.
Gameplay-wise, the combat is simple and can get repetitive a bit, but as you progress further, the combat does improve with learned skills.
The main story is not that long (10-15 hours) if you rush through it, but most of the gameplay time is spent exploring the world and doing side stuff.

I have not stopped playing this game since I bought it. I've been waiting for a good samurai game since Bushido Blade, and this far surpasses anything else I've played. The open world is beautiful; sometimes I just stop and stare for a while at the most amazing vistas. Combat is fairly intuitive, yet allows for creativity with the switching of stances mid-fight. It was definitely worth the wait to finally get a game like this.

Ghost of Tsushima is quite the satisfying game. It has amazing scenery, engaging plot and the side quests are equally enjoyable. The only knock on this game (from a Special Edition Standpoint) is the bonus you receive for this version of the game is only a mask and sword kit, but not the armor compared to the collectors edition. Overall, one of the best games I have played and should be a contender for Game of the Year.

I can't say enough good things about Ghost of Tsushima. It's a game that I was looking forward to playing ever since the initial reveal in 2017. The environments are stunning, the combat is visceral and fast paced, and the story is fantastic. If you are a PS4 owner, you owe it to yourself to play this game. It's one of the best games of the last decade.

Considering the modern trend of open world collect-a-thon games, I was expecting Ghost of Tsushima to be another cookie cutter, Ubisoft-lite experience. Thankfully this wasn't the case. The game takes the modern open world formula and, while not being particularly innovative, provides the player with a meaningful, substantial experience without ever wasting their time. That's not to say the game is perfect, but it fulfills its goal - immersing the player in the role of Jin Sakai as well as immersing them in the world of Tsushima - and fulfills it well.
The bonus content included with the Special Edition is standard fare at this point: a digital artbook, a digital mini-soundtrack, and a director's commentary video. I would have preferred a physical artbook and soundtrack, but that's just more of a personal preference. The included artwork and music are great, but the real shining star of the Special Edition is the insightful director's commentary, which provides a great deal of information on the making-of the game, as well as giving the player an idea of the thought processes behind some of the game's design decisions and story beats.
If you can still find a copy, the Special Edition adds a great value to an already great game.
