Love this game....................................

2018 brought about the worst God of War game in existence. Four years later Sony didn't bother to reinvent the wheel, but instead decided to spread more of the same mess. Unoriginal and uninspired, God of War: Ragnarök has very little difference from its predecessor. You're still in cooperative mode with an ally watching your back in most situations. Kratos didn't need anyone in the original trilogy, which were all incredible games. This disappointment severly tones down the character by stripping the series of that frentic, fast-paced action it was once known for. Dealing with oversized enemies (surrounded by smaller ones as well) and puzzles simualtenously, the bloodshed and stylish kills also provided a strong storyline to get into about Greek mythology. These newer games in the series have left that station completely. Now Kratos and son are facing Norse gods. The scenario itself doesn't work very well. It's sort of like sending Superman after the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles when there's no one left in Metropolis to challenge him. The longtime voice for Kratos and the way that the narrative plays out is also not enjoyable at all. T.C. Carson (who used to play the part of Kratos) is no longer in the position. All his replacement talks about is feelings, caring for his son and keeping him from harm. You'll also constantly be getting in-game feedback from other characters who annoy more than they add actual substance to the game. Kratos used to be an unstoppable force, not a pathetic slow-moving creature that is in desperate need of being put out of his misery. Much like the disgraceful 2018 entry, God of War: Ragnarök fails to bring about a must-play experience.
