The camera goes off line randomly for hours. The app does not give me a notification of it either so I can’t turn it back on .

I like it for checking in on my pets. Though I think a 3 hr window for free is way too short. Do not want to pay for more access.

It was great for the first 30 days. Then I needed to purchase "Nest Aware" to go back and see what my camera saw. I was unaware that this already pricey item required an extra $140.00 per year to see who is in my room. Ridiculous!!

Absolute GARBAGE; have to re-login 20x a day

The absolute WORST SECURITY CAMERA I have ever owned. I have 5 of these cameras on a 1Gb internet connection connected to Linksys 2-node Wifi mesh network. DO NOT BUY THIS CAMERA; the Google Nest iOS losses connection every 1hr and asks me to re-login. If you check the google forums this issue has been happening for 3 YEARS!!!! I called google a year ago and they wasted my time having me go through steps that didn't help. 3 YEARS to have a security product not work for security that has a frozen video from the night or day before because I need to terminate the app and re-login. WOW. Gargage! You have been warned.

Hi LoyalBBShopper, thanks for sharing some insights. We´re sorry to hear that your Nest Cam Indoor loses connection with your Wi-Fi network, and for falling short on your support needs. This is not the kind of experience we would have wanted you to have.

If you´re willing to try, you might want to try the steps below to isolate the issue further and identify if the issue is caused by your camera or the Wi-Fi network:
      - If your Wi-Fi router is dual band (supports both 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands), we suggest connecting your Nest camera to the 2.4GHz band to get a more stable Wi-Fi signal.
      - Check your Wi-Fi router's DHCP lease time for at least 2 hours. This can help ensure your Nest products stay connected to your network.
      - If you have MAC address filtering enabled, the MAC addresses of your Nest camera must be added to the list of authorized devices.
      - Try restarting the camera, disconnect it from power by unplugging the power adapter and wait 10 seconds before turning it on again.

We'd be happy to take a further look at the issue and understand what may be causing it. Our support team would love to assist you if you can reach out to us here: https://support.google.com/googlenest/gethelp Nest

I got this camera to be able to comunicate with my family if I'm not at the house. But it doesn't work like that. It says that it is 2 way voice but it isn't. The speaker doesn't sound with my voice. Also it gets to hot, I'm not sure if that's normal

      Hi Carlos,

Thanks for sharing your experience with us. We're sorry to hear that you've encountered some issues with your Nest Cam Indoor when trying to communicate with your family.

Talk and Listen feature lets you talk to people with your camera when you're away from home, but it doesn't work like video chat for Nest Cam Indoor. It can only be done one way at a time. While one side speaks, the other side listens, then you take turns to communicate. Check out this link for more details on how it works: https://support.google.com/googlenest/answer/9219455

Like any electronic device, Google Nest cameras produce heat while they’re on. It’s normal for your Nest camera to produce some heat while being powered, but it’s designed to quickly disperse heat. As your camera works hard to stream audio and video, send alerts, and other activities, your camera creates more heat.

You should expect your camera to produce some heat when working normally, but if you think that it gets hot more than usual, please unplug your Nest camera and reach out to us: https://support.google.com/wifi/contactflow Nest

Excellent Product, but 1080P will eat up Wifi

THE GOOD: For the ease of setup I can't imagine a better product. It records to the cloud instantly and I purchased the 3-pack which was a relatively good deal. I've had the three cameras setup for almost a month now and I couldn't be happier. THE AWESOME: 1) Cloud backup is instant, automatic, and dirt cheap I pay $20/a month for 10-day history backup of 3 cameras. If you don't want to view history you don't pay anything, but are you really going to spend all your day looking at the cameras? And when something does happen you will wish you had the 10 day backup to see what happened. 2) Multiple customized motion sensing zones!! I have zones setup for my home named far, close, very close to home and can filter by zones. 3) My favorite surprise functionality that I didn't know it had, but comes in handy: The cameras have a loud microphone and speaker, so I can communicate with family inside my home when at work. This comes in very handy when a family member's phone is dead or they are not near their phone you simply activate the microphone and speak. 4) indoor night vision is impressive. 5) get to see all the wildlife around your home. 6) Panoramic range this camera has is impressive. THE BAD: 1)Forget 1080p unless you have a super-fast Wifi router and connection. You will end up changing it to 720p because the amount of bandwidth 1080p eats up x3 cameras is too much, but you might get away with 1 camera at 1080p. 2) Night vision is great, but does not work if you have the camera pointing from inside the home to outside AND you have double-pane windows. The double-pane windows deflects the night vision LEDs back on themselves. I ended up turning off the night vision and just putting a outdoor light outside that turns on at night and off in the morning.

Returned it. Without a subscription you cannot have access to events older than 3 hours; that increases your overall operating cost. It also does not have local storage, forcing you to take subscriptions. Better options available - YI Home Camera had local storage and 7 days free cloud recording and many more added features. Good for some, not for me.

The cameras by themselves look good and do the job. But in order for them to work you need extra things, like the app. The app is very buggy. There will be times you won't be able to access your cameras or control them. This is unacceptable. I haven't signed up for the monthly service, because it's ridiculous that they charge you for the service.
