It can be difficult to determine the root cause of this issue without further information. But we recommend you to try a few of the steps below to see if they might help:
- Check the Power Outlet:
1. Try different outlets.
2. Verify the outlet is working.
- Check the Power Port and the Power Adapter/Cord:
1. Inspect cable for damage.
2. Remove/reinsert current cable into the adapter and wiggle it (you can’t wiggle it on the camera side), watching the LED for changes. If the LED blinks, or the camera power cycles.
3. Remove the USB cable from the cable for 5 seconds, then plug it back in. If the camera turns on then the issue is resolved.
4. Test with a different USB cable if the 5-second wait does not allow the camera to boot.

Maybe I got a bad one
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have top quality internet speeds, in which all of my devices work great on, and this camera would not connect to my internet, once it was...the picture was so grainy I couldnt make out anything, and there was about a 12 second lag time between real time and what the camera showed you. Unfortunately...not impressed but was very hopeful this would work well for our home.

Hacked

My girlfriend was in the kitchen and she started hearing a voice coming from the camera asking her what she was cooking for dinner. Super scary! Reported the problem to Nest customer service. We immediately unplugged the camera and are returning it.

Posted .We're sorry to hear about this experience you've had with your Nest. The only way someone can access your Nest Cam is if they have access to your Nest Account. We take our customers security very seriously and our customers account information has not been breached. If you've had something like this occur, then it's likely that your account credentials for your Nest account were the same of another service that may have been compromised allowing someone to gain access with your personal information.
We always suggest using a unique password for your Nest account, as well as activating two factor authentication to ensure no one is able to access your account.

Everyone told me that I need to purchase more items for it to pick up my internet. Wrong, I get internet with everything in my home and not for this. Sorry, but no I shouldn’t have to purchase other items to make this work.

Don’t waste your money

The other two is not working. One shuts off itself sometimes in the morning sometimes In evening and so on. The other one is just showing blurry images.

Thank you for sharing your experience with us. We're truly sorry your Nest cameras are not working as intended.
In order to understand the underlying reason why one of the cameras is shutting off randomly, you can try swapping the power cable and adapter with the working Nest Cam Indoor. If the issue switches to the camera, then the power cable may need replacement. If it still shuts off randomly, we'd like to take a further look into the issue.
As for the blurry images, we suggest cleaning the lens periodically with a soft lint-free cloth to remove dust or debris. You can also use the Nest app to zoom and enhance and crop out surfaces or objects that may be causing glare. Check nearby objects that may be reflecting the sunlight if possible and move them if necessary. Lastly, please make sure the Wi-Fi connection to the camera is stable and strong enough to deliver the desired performance. Each Nest camera requires at least 2Mbps upload speed to stream clearly.

Terrible performance

I can watch all 3 cameras - if I’m not then basically someone could break in my house and I would not get an alert. Will be returning this expensive upgraded personal FaceTime gadget. #FAIL

Super Simple Great Camera

I felt that I must review the Nest Cam. I have had several cameras and this, by far, has been the easiest to set up. It took about two minutes. The viewing area is incredible. The picture and sound are terrific. I have it on the fireplace mantel and you can only notice it if you are looking for it. The nest app is great. I use this camera to watch my furry friends while I'm at work.

Great Camera

Great picture and I'm please with the wide area it captures. I have not purchased the subscription yet, but I will. Received an alert when my kids came home from school and I could also check in with them using the talk feature. So far I'm very pleased with my purchase.

Can’t get anyone on the phone to help with set up
