Didn't work

One the mic worked but not the speaker, the other, the speaker worked but mic didn't pick up anything.

If the issue happened when you tested the audio of the cameras by talking and listening, it may be the Talk and Listen feature. Talk and Listen feature lets you talk to people with your camera when you're away from home, but it doesn't work like a video chat. It can only be done one way at a time. Hardware Improved, Software Missing Features
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.This is review is in relation to the Dropcam Pro. The video quality is a step up. This is a given with 1080p now featured. Night mode is also better. However, this camera, like the Dropcam Pro, continue to have issues with dusk time lighting when its too dark for natural lighting, and not dark enough for the infrared lights. I have not tested the sound quality but the new Nest app (tested w/ Android) has a talk and listen chime feature. The mounting system is also much improved with the magnetic base. My toddler daughter also is less intimidated by its sleeker physique. While the hardware is improved, the software is lacking (Nest vs Dropcam Android apps and web apps). There are 2 key features missing. First the Nest app and web app is missing the feature to share the camera feed via email. You can only make the camera public. The second missing feature is the ability to set location aware notifications. As these missing features are software, I'm hopeful that Nest will re-integrate them into the applications. However, leaving them off seems to indicate a rush to push the product out before the software is finalized. Unfortunately, while the Dropcam app still works with the Dropcam Pro, it will not work with the new Nest Cam.

Cool Camera's but Expensive

I've set up two sets of the three pack in under 30 minutes total. I did take my three pack back to Best Buy for a refund, though, because after sleeping on it, I couldn't justify paying $500.00 for three camera's in a Cape Cod style house and with officers of the law living on our street. Felt a lot better having an extra $500 back in my pocket after returning. Great cameras, but only if you really need them.

Don't bother with competitors ....

Nest: Nnetwork when accessed from wifi or cellular: awesome. smooth, great audio. even when set to 720p. setup: remarkably easy. dont waste your time with any other cameras. who is going to compare with a google backed venture ? no one has

Excellent Basic Security Camera
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had purchased a disaster of a security cam from Amazon, and the thing failed after two days, so I went to Best Buy to see what was in stock there. I was wandering around, looking at the security cameras, so an associated quickly came up to me and asked me if I needed help choosing one. I explained what I wanted: a basic security camera that would report motion to my smart phone and to my computer. He directed me to several that he said were equally capable of what I wanted. I asked him which was easiest to set up (remembering the days of the headache those IP cameras could be to get up and running). He said that the Nest was slightly simpler than the others, although they were all pretty easy. I bought the Nest on his recommendation. I got it home, and within no more than ten minutes it was running. It notifies me on my smart phone if there is any motion, and I can either look at the recording of the activity or go directly to live view. I can do the same on my computer, although it is usually the case that I have the phone available for viewing. In live view mode, I can speak through the camera. This is quite nice considering I bought the camera to let me know when my cats are prowling where I don't want them to go. It's quite nice to be able to bark, "Get out of there!" if one or the other of the cats makes an exploratory recon into the forbidden zone. (On the down side, I once did that when it was my daughter, not a cat, walking through. My daughter was not amused.) Anyway, the camera has a very wide angle that can be adjusted, and it does pretty well in very low-level lighting. The only complaint I might have, and this is not the fault of the product, is that there is a slight delay between when motion occurs in the camera's range and when I get the notification. Other than that, this is simply a dandy security camera, and I will buy more of them to add to the network of security in my home.

No free cloud recording

Integrates nicely with my other Nest products

This device ties in nicely with my thermostats and protects and it shows me a clear picture of my house at all hours plus the voice interaction is pretty nifty. I wish they would have made this to be all weather to go outside because I would have bought a couple of these for my exterior to monitor outside around the house. I would highly recommend if you are looking for smart home monitoring. The one thing I would have changed is to make the stand a 360 degree stand since it only moves in a few directions.
