    I own the camera, I should own the password

    The camera has great clarity and range. The Home and Away figure stinks. The camera can be set to turn on when you are away and off when you are home; rarely works. The worse thing is if you don’t use the camera for some time, you will need to reset your password. Trying to do that is like trying to get access to Fort Knox. The password reset process is ridiculous. It took me one hour to reset it. It’s my camera for god sake. I should have control of my passwords. I won’t buy another Nest product ever.

      We recommend checking if you’re using a Nest Account. If you started using the Nest app after August 19, 2019, you’re using a Google Account. If you’re signed in to the Nest app, at the top right, tap Settings Nest settings icon. If the option “Migrate to a Google Account” does not appear on the screen, then you’re using a Nest Account. If you can’t sign in to the Nest app, go to myaccount.google.com/permissions and then sign in with your Google Account. If Nest appears under “Signing in with Google,” then you need to use your Google Account to sign in to the Nest app and follow the steps on this link: https://support.google.com/accounts/answer/41078

      If you’re unable to change the password for your Nest account, you may need to reset your Nest Account password:
      - Open the Nest app or visit home.nest.com.
      - Tap Sign in with Nest and then Forgot Password.
      - Enter your email address and then Reset password.
      - You’ll receive an email to reset your password.

      If your phone won’t recognize your location whether you’re away or home, checking your location from the Nest App may help. Make sure that your location from the Nest App settings matches your location using another map app.
      - In the Nest app, go to Settings > Home info > next to “Address,” verify that the information is correct. If you need to change the address, tap Address.
      - If there are other people who share access to your home and control devices, they should also check that their phone’s location is correct in the app.

    Great camera.Needs to be better detailed

    I bought this camera according to the details it will give you sound alerts.It will not.After spending about two hours with Nest Support.It will only send you an email or push notifications to your phone and or Ipad.I don't check my email every single minute.Disappointing

    It sets up easy and the video is very clear. However after 5 to 6 months it quits working (out of warranty no doubt), probably because I did not buy their $10 per month recording service. Glad I only bought one... lesson learned!

    Do not buy as baby monitor

    As a baby monitor I would NEVER BUY again. The image quality is great at night but the service is terrible. Many nights I’ve woken up to my baby crying only to see the nest screen has gone blank. We had trouble with our internet, when ATT came out they said it was slow because the nest was sucking all the juice-AND it still shuts off! Problems with network communication and just shutting off. It also has like a ten second delay and notification delay. Would definitely not recommend for the price and frustration.

      Nest cameras typically require 2 Mbps upload speed at high quality settings, and while streaming on a phone, tablet or computer, each of these devices can use up to 2 Mbps of your download bandwidth. If you´re still experiencing the same issue even after contacting your Internet service provider, then you may need to consider upgrading your Internet bandwidth.

      We also recommend lowering the video quality of your Nest camera to check if it improves connectivity as high resolution video streaming requires strong and reliable bandwidth availability.

    False Alerts

    I own 4 cameras, 2 Nest and 2 of the original Dropcams. I use them to monitor my summer home. The camera pictures are excellent when I log in and check them. I agree with other reviews that the extra money for the recording is too much money so I never bought that. My problem is false alerts. I have used all 4 cameras in 2 different summer homes and they constantly tell me to check the camera when no one is there. I spoke with customer support and he had no ideas on why it was happening. I have not read many reviews where this is a problem but it is for me. I still use them but I do not recommend them.

    The only issue is that with the app. When you review your video it breaks it down into short clips from 5 seconds to maybe a minute. So you have to view multiple videos to see the whole section you want to review.

    Hooked these up at our Florida home and pointed them out the window so we could see construction of our pool. It was great knowing and seeing the progress. I check them daily when I am not in Florida

    this camera was bought as a baby monitor, great camera with very good resolution, you can talk to your baby, and subscribe for video history we also use it to check our house when we are on vacations

    This camera has a great picture but I was disappointed that the camera which has the ability to detect motion does not communicate with my Nest thermostat to turn off the away status when I am home.

    I bought this camera for my puppy. I wanted to check in on what he's up to during the day. The talk feature is great if you want to call him. I love this camera. Will buy more for other rooms!

    Had one and loved it so much I bought this as a gift. She loves it too. Best in the market especially with it having a built in speaker that allows you to speak into from your cell phone.

    Great camera. Easy to install. You do not have to mount them if you have something to sit them on (cabinet or window ledge). Gives a good view of the area you are monitoring.

    Complete RUBISH

    So much time wasted on setup. I've tried 2 different emails, a Mac, An S6 Android, Windows 7 PC- all which do not receive their silly email verification. Get your act together! At $200 I expect better. Returning dud tomorrow.
