    I have used this camera for about half year. The camera's images are good at daytime. However, the software is poor. I keep getting notifications "Your camera noticed some activity" while there was nothing moving. The night vision is also very poor compared to my another much cheaper Amcrest camera.

    I bought 2 of these not knowing that you have to WiFi on with them to work at all times. That’s the only thing I don’t like about this brand.

    At first glance, the Nest Cam is a really great product. However, for those that are more tech inclined or with needs such as outdoor mounting, the Nest Cam falls short. Pros: +: Great for those with simple recording or technical requirements. +: The Nest Cam integrates tightly with the Nest app on the iOS/Android platforms and Nest.com website. +: Setup is extremely easy. Cons: -: Wireless range and performance isn't great Despite a line of sight to my 802.11AC Apple Airport Extreme router, it often has buffering issues. -: Fully relies on the Nest Cam cloud video recording system to be operational. The highly touted capabilities that require a monthly Nest Aware subscription where motion detection sends alerts to your mobile device, etc. have been down for a subset (myself included) of active Nest Cam users on the Nest Community forums since 7/10/2015 with no notice from Nest. -: Nest's Phone Technical Support is extremely lackluster. Estimated hold time was 30 minutes, my call was disconnected by their phone system at a hold time of 1 hour and 2 minutes. -: Nest's E-mail support is also poor, they tell you to expect a 3-5 day turnaround time before you receive a response. I am now currently trying to engage Nest's support via twitter and other venues. I want a refund, I'll roll my own security camera system.

    I bought these because they were cool. I returned them the next day because I realized that I over paid for them, even with the "save a $100" tag line. Easy to set up. Too expensive.

    I "upgraded" one of my Dropcam Pros to the Nest Cam expecting improvements. The 1080p increase in resolution is not very noticeable from the Dropcam due to very aggressive compression. The Nest mobile app is also significantly worst than the Dropcam app in performance and functionality. Auto notification on/off doesn't exist in the new app and the app is very sluggish. iPad version of the app also lacks significant functionality from the Dropcam version. You can't review video from a specific time unless it has triggered motion detection. The camera goes offline more frequently than the Dropcam. I'm quite disappointed in the performance of this camera compared to the Dropcam considering it's essentially the same camera.

    It takes a long time for the camera to load on the newest iPhone so you have to have the history. My husband will come home, unlock the door, come in, take his coat off, then the app will notify me that it sensed motion. Even though I did not sign up for the free trial period, I was given some type of video history. Then when it expired, I could not rewind just a couple of seconds to see the person that left something in the mailbox or knocked on the door. I felt that I was forced to buy the year subscription for $300 because it was the best value, and there is not option but to allow nest to auto renew.

    First try pairing, get up the next morning, its disconnected and will not re-connect. I kept getting "this device is already paired", waited forever on customer service, gave up and took it back. The picture was good while it worked.

    Sadly these cameras suck and are not nearly as good as my original dropcams. I read the negative reviews but hoped that maybe, just maybe, the reviewers had it wrong...they had it right. These cameras are not as consistent as the Dropcams that I already have. The worst part of it is that the Nest App is always crashing but my Dropcam App still works fine... Too bad I can't add the Nest Cams to my Dropcam app...

    I love Nest. Their thermostat works amazing but this security cam does not. It looks okay in general but for 1080p I was expecting crystal clear recordings. It does the job if you just want to see your pets and what they are up to when you're away but if you're wanting to do any serious recording then look elsewhere.

    Very nice looking camera and awesome that it has voice. This product did not work with my Apple computer. This really puzzled me but I spent almost 3 hours on the phone with 2 different techs and could not get it to work. I really wanted to like it but moved on to the Arlo system and all is good!

    Already expensive cameras need a subscription to utilize! Also after installing and setting these up the app will bug you to do extra layers of security. Makes you feel like Nest doesn’t have good security on their end. Had I known the app was going to keep bugging me for this I wouldn’t have purchased these cameras. Plus you need a subscription to utilize the cameras. That’s an extra monthly fee.

    Forced to create a Google account to get full use

    The camera itself works fine.....however, in order to get Nest-Aware to record activity, they force you to migrate your Nest Account to a Google account. Not happy with that, so I am not paying for Nest-Aware even though I would like to have it.

    Not what I expected from Nest! Bought this thinking the indoor cam should work well considering the doorbell works absolutely great. It arrived and I quickly put it out. I played with different areas of my house and the resolution was soooo bad! It didn't matter where I placed it, it did not show clear at all. The image was very pixelated. If I needed to catch someone in it and try to get a clear image of the persons face it would be next to impossible. Needless to say it went back. I'm going to try the HD one and hope it works better if not I'm going to have to do what I didn't want to do which is purchase from a different brand and download a second app different from the Nest one.

    I love the cameras picture quality is great it’s the cost of their cloud recording that’s ridiculous $10 for the first camera five dollars per cameras after that each month.

    Terrible clock. Painful to use. Makes an awful jarring electrical sound before the normal alarm starts ringing. It is an atrocious noise and apparently per the message boards it’s been an ongoing issue for 6+ months. Really ruins the experience. In addition we both have one of these clocks and unfortunately there’s only one command to wake up the clock so I can’t even adequately use the clock to set my alarm because when I speak it wakes up both my husband clock in my o’clock. This is a major flaw I would not buy this again. Skip!!

    I thought the cameras had decent quality, but I hated the app. The zoom on the screen always got in the way of pinch to zoom. I really didn't like the app design!

    At first I liked this camera because it worked great with the 30 day trial subscription. I intentionally didn't buy the extended service just to see how the video clips worked without it. It didn't work at all. It said there would be access for 3 hours, but there where no video clips. I called and their support said I had to buy the monthly subscription to see or save clips. I went out and immediately bought a competitors (Arlo) camera and now I'm happy. No subscription.
