-Mounting is a pain: The camera's shape is familiar, but the way it mounts stinks. You can't swivel it much, so whether it's on a wall or a shelf, it usually points down, not straight out.
-Rotation is limited: Forget about mounting it on the side—you can only rotate the image 180 degrees (for ceilings), not 90 degrees.
-Picture quality is sharp (mostly): The camera sensor is great. During the day, you can zoom in and actually see people's faces outside. Inside, the colors are pretty accurate, and it's nice and sharp.
-Night Vision: Night vision outside requires the camera to be outside or there will be too many reflections. Night vision inside gives a decent picture due to the infrared LEDs.
-Wide-angle lens has distortion: It gives you a great view of a large room, but the full image looks a bit stretched or distorted until you zoom in.
-AI features are good: The face detection works really well, so you can tell it which faces are "friendly" to stop getting annoying alerts.
-Installation is annoying, but quick: You have to use the Google Home or Nest app, sign in, and agree to their arbitration policy, which means no class-action lawsuits. That's a lot of trust you're putting in Google for a device that collects so much info. Once you scan the barcode, you're pretty much ready to go.
-Overall feeling? Disappointed: I appreciated the older Nest camera's small size and flexible mounting. This new one is bigger, the mounting is terrible, and the corporate policies are worse. Even though the sensor is sharp, the rest of the problems make it hard to recommend. This is definitely a step down.

This camera works great in our home to keep us informed about the house when we are not there.
The camera gives good clarity and you will need to buy into a cloud plan if you want to capture and save videos of any length.
Super easy to set it up!

image quality is good, integrates with google's HOME app to view cam. the AI summary and features are a pricey upcharge, but i'm trying them for a month. in low light this tends to shift to B&W, my wyze cams dont. also wyze can seemingly see better in the dark. the google cam is rather heavy and doesnt adjust as much as id like,. it tilts DOWN but not up. the green light that it's viewing is very bright - others tell me this can be lowered in the app. I just wound up putting painters tape over it. the panning and scrubbing via the cloud based app can be iffy, and sometimes cams lose connectivity w the HOME app.

I'm very impressed with the overall quality of these new Google Nest cameras. The video streaming is crisp and clear, loading is quick, and they are very intelligent about recording only the people, animals, etc that l want and nothing more. They were easy to install and never miss a beat.

I have other Google Home devices, which made setting up the camera easy and quick. The quality of the picture and features is what I’ve come to expect from Google Home devices.

Highly impressed with the upgrades that were made to the picture of this camera. A step in the right direction by going to 2K, looking forward to seeing when they will go to 4K

Here’s a clean, straight-shooting review you can drop anywhere:
Review: Google Nest Cam Indoor (Wired, 3rd Gen – 2K, Gemini)
I switched over from a Eufy pan-and-tilt, and honestly, this Nest Cam is on a different level. The recording is far more consistent, the motion detection actually catches what I need, and the Google integration is seamless. Setup was quick, it stays connected, and the 2K video looks sharp day and night. If you’re already in the Google ecosystem, this is the camera to get... reliable, simple, and it just works.

Great indoor camera wide range. Can zoom in very closely. Very clear picture. Also using automations one can set up motion detection and leave the cameras off which automatically turn on once they detect whatever you set as a parameter. Also Best buy had these at a great price and delivered expeditiously.

Great next Gen camera. The quality is crystal clear, the app is great, and knowing Google is there to keep me safe is excellent. Mounting these is a little funky, you can't really place them in a corner unless you are okay with very crooked video, would only recommend for straight on applications, such as the middle of a wall.

Convenient and crisp! This camera is very convenient and easy to setup.
Took me no even 5 minutes to setup.
The cord is long enough to position the camera virtually anywhere near an outlet. Once connected to the app, the movement history is helpful and the display crispness is amazing.

With 2K resolution, the image and video quality is noticeably better than previous gen. Was able to set this up with the Google Home app without issues.
Have not had a chance to try out the AI feature, but good to know the feature is there if needed.
Only compliant I have is adjustments to rotation and angle remain limited. Other than that, solid upgrade!

Picked up one of these on sale to replace a Gen 2 indoor nest camera. The extra FOV is nice since it now covers most of my garage, allowing me to keep an eye on my vehicles, two recently installed powerwalls and a utility sink. Not to mention, a very convenient way to tell if the garage door was left open.

Ive been part of the nest family for years. But i must say this model truly did do small improvements in a big way! Bringing Gemini opens doors to me feeling more safe to determine of my daughter is awake in bed or still asleep, or if my cats up to no good. Or best if maintenance is in fixing an appliance. Strongly recommend if youve been eyeing this product.
