I originally wanted these cameras because I own everything else made by Google and Nest, and I wanted to reduce the number of apps to control my smart house. I have fiber internet with a mesh network powered by Google Wifi, and I have at least 6 Nest Connect around the house to ensure that everything works properly. My home is less than 1600 sqft and everything I have is set to cover at least twice that size. The camera App and Experience is amazing, set-up and installation are easy and very pleasant. BUT, unfortunately, this is not a reliable security camera. If you are looking for casual security, maybe a camera to watch your dogs in the backyard, good quality video to do something else that is not serious security, I can recommend. But if you want reliability and a camera you can trust at all times, this is not it. The Wi-Fi drops at least 6-9 times per day, it comes back up in less than 6-7 minutes and some times less than 20. But the reason I decided to write the review today is that just a few hours ago, someone stole something from my front yard and I saw them through the window. It was nothing very valuable, it was a decoration and I am not a confrontational person at all. So I thought I had it all on camera. It turns out that just before the person arrived till like 2 minutes before the person left the camera decided to disconnect. We never know at what moment of our day we would need our camera to be working, and 2-5 mins 7-6 times per day may not seem much for most. It sure was enough to miss the yard thief today. AGAIN. It is a great product, it is good-looking, the app experience is great and installation is easy. Overall the quality of the product itself is SOLID. I also have an overkill Wi-FI set up to ensure I never lose signal at all times. So it could be a faulty set, but for now, until I can see if I can get a replacement. My suggestion is not to get this camera if you are serious about a 24/7 uninterrupted monitoring. And I want to point out. I am not a product Karen. I understand disconnections happen, wifi signal could be weak sometimes, and that maybe Wi-Fi is not a great security option overall. But when a product missed close to 2 hours per day when you have done everything and more to ensure it does not happen. It is not a good enough product for me. Or anyone who would like security at all.

Works great. Easy install with the magnet and cord has plenty of length. Synced to my other nest items easily. Great image quality and live the instant email and txt alerts when motion is detected.

The camera system was easy to setup and install. The image is sharp and the night vision is great quality. I would recommend this to others looking for an easy home camera system.

This is indeed a smart camera made by NEST. Very good to have while you’re not home, it continuously monitor indoor and outdoor. Only thing I don’t agree with are the monthly cost of cloud storage 30 day and 10 Days. The product is already expensive. Why pay more for 30-day or 10 day storage.

The Nest system is simple to set up and easy to use. The video is clear, even at night. We subscribe to their service for 10–day archives which is very reasonably priced

They are easy to setup. Effortless to add to Nest account and the night vision is great. Its winter time now so I shall have to see how it holds up in 116 degree heat. The box say its only rated up to 104. They aren't in direct sunlight so I hope that will keep them from malfunctioning.

I put off installing this for a week after it arrived because I was dreading having to route the power cord through the garage wall. The only down side to this is that the hole needed to be 7/8" in diameter to get the plug through. Not the end of the world, but drilling it took a while! Was totally worth it in the end! The camera records great video and knows how to detect people vs. other motion. The app is very intuitive and quick to navigate to events. Events show up on my smart watch zoomed into whatever caused the motion alert. The app and camera are very configurable - it's a polished product that a lot of thought has gone into, and they got it right.

These cameras have a sharp image for being just 1080p. Pretty good image at night as well with the infrared night vision. Added several of these around the house for security and theft deterrent. People notifications work great, and they don't false trigger for other objects and bushes/trees moving. The app lets you set the notifications to only notify you when a person is walking around. Easy to add to my WiFi network, and comes with the hardware needed to mount to a wall. I drilled a hole inside my garage and mounted the camera outside, and ran the cable inside.

Easy set up. Can be plugged outside. Picture is great. Night vision is amazing as well. If you don’t need Face ID for your camera, this is enough.

The camera is easy to setup and install is quick with all necessary items included like screws, brackets, etc. The extra long power cable is great. Looking forward to adding more cameras to my setup. Only negative would be the voice capability is frustrating sometimes as push to talk creates delays and getting used to waiting takes some time.

What I like about this camera is that is really is easy to use, easy to install, and easy to maintain. I already have a few nest products at home so I don't have to create another account with another password and another application. This camera talks to each other so I don't have to check multiple apps to get updates of my home. The quality is really good, but only if you have strong wi-fi, so make sure you put your router close by your cameras to avoid any interruptions. What I don't like - while this is wireless in terms of streaming and internet connectivity. You still need to find a place to route the power cord. It does include a 25ft cable, but that really is not long enough if I want to put one in the back of the house and route the power cable on the inside.

I install the nest Wi-Fi last year and this year install the Google cameras. I also ended up buying the nest aware membership which was a completely elegant experience to have with this cameras. The quality of the cameras is good during the daylight time however the night time it is recorded in black and white and there are some minor details missing such as the license plates of the cars and other vehicles. The camera and nest app does a pretty good job in detecting the motions and delivering those notifications to your phone.

Nest Aware should be purchased if you want to take a full advantage of this camera. Without that, it will just take a photo even activity occurs, but it's hard to imagine what actually happened and cannot see the face of the person. Otherwise, it's pretty stable and works well.

These cameras are easily hidden, not bulky and ambiguous to those in their view. They pick up good sound quality and the hold storage for up to 10 days (could be upgraded for a longer storage time). Upon buying the cameras I was not informed that there was a trial period involved for all of its features, after that you pay for upgraded features. Overall good product, could be better. Sometimes these cameras lapse and do not report activity for long periods of time. I would recommend to anyone who just generally wants to look over their property, but would recommend something a bit more functional for those protecting their spaces for safety reasons.

My only complaint is the wire to power it has a very large round bump on the charging cord, so if you have to drill a hole to feed it outside, the hole is the size of a wine bottle cork. So I used a Winking Owl wine cork to fill the hole in. Otherwise it is a great camera. The definition of the objects it is recording is excellent.

You also need a beefy internet upload speed for these to work well (I have 5mbit/s up, and 3 works fine). I had to install a 2nd wifi access point in my garage (using a powerline ethernet adapter) to get workable signal to my further cameras.

Great camera. Clear photos and video. Occasionally disconnects with WiFi but that could be where I have it. Never misses an event/motion.

This a wonderful camera for the person that is non-technical or doesn’t want to invest $900 on a complete NVR-based system. This camera is very easy to install and configure from your mobile app. All of your surveillance video is securely stored in cloud. Since Google purchased Nest they’ve restructured the pricing for the recorded material for the budget minded. The video quality is excellent at 1080p but the best part of the whole system is the mobile app interface. They are constantly making it feature packed with ease of use in mind.

This camera is great and the video is great quality. It does occasionally miss automatically tagging when someone is at the door, but I have the nest aware subscription so I can always manually go through the recorded feed. The speaker and mic work decently well too.
