High quality camera and easy installation. You will hear and see things that you didn’t before with this camera. The motion detection of a car or person is excellent and see what happens before, during and after the motion is detected. Make sure if you purchase this camera you have a strong WiFi signal so you don’t have camera outages or the camera is off line. I switched from a camera system that was plugged into my router, as long as you have a good WiFi signal this camera is for you. Highly recommended!

Great cameras with a few caveats

We have 3 of these cameras set up around the perimeter of our home. They work great, and are easy to access through the Nest app. However, there are a few things you should know about them. There is a monthly storage fee that is required if you want anything more than live video viewing and pictures of events (for 10 days of recording it's $10 for the first camera, and $5 for each additional). You also need a beefy internet upload speed for these to work well (I have 5mbit/s up, and 3 works fine). I had to install a 2nd wifi access point in my garage (using a powerline ethernet adapter) to get workable signal to my further cameras.

Before we had this camera, we had packages being stolen off our front porch and neighborhood kids messing with my Jeep. We haven't had any of that since installing this camera. Not only has it been a great deterrent from all that, the quality of the video and the ease of use with the Nest app make it one of the best purchases I've made this year. We have a busy neighborhood so the options to be alerted when it recognizes a person vs. a car is also very helpful so the app wont alert us every 2 seconds. A must for any home security!

This camera is great and the video is great quality. It does occasionally miss automatically tagging when someone is at the door, but I have the nest aware subscription so I can always manually go through the recorded feed. The speaker and mic work decently well too.

I love these cameras! I don’t think I could live with out them at this point. This was a second set, we have 4 total. They are very easy to set up, and the app is user friendly. You can get alerts for when it sees differ types of motion or sounds. I like that it tells you before you open the app what type of alert (motion-person) (sound-dog bark) and where/which camera. So person in the back yard I’m going to open the app and look where as person drive way I might not.

The cameras are great we have three in our home. We liked them so much we bought one for my mom to put under her carport. We had connectivity issues and called the "help line". I'm not sure why individuals in foreign countries are the ones to try and direct customers. He was in a completely different time zone as he stated he just woke up. No to mention he was hard to understand. He could not figure out why the camera could not connect to the wifi. Basically he was no help AT ALL. The camera itself is great...however better instructions/help centers are needed.

I was lucky to grab this set of two cameras when they were on sale not long ago. I wanted to install something as we were about to leave on a trip and it would just give us peace of mind to be able to see whats going on around the house. I have one camera not far from the router (wireless internet) and another one way on the other side of the house covering the back yard. Both cameras have not ever had trouble staying connected. Installation took some planning. I wanted the cameras to be high enough people could not reach them and they would not be seen easily. Connecting the cameras to power is what took the most planning. Determining a location that the camera can be mounted outside and the power ran inside the house and down to an outlet. If you want a very clean set up, plan to have some skills at running wires, possibly some drywall repair skills and again a good plan so that you don't end up with a pile of cord near the outlet. You will need a Nest subscription of you want the cameras to work to their full potential. I don't mind the extra cost as Nest has introduced new plans over the last year which are less expensive and adding more cameras to the same plan gives you the best bang for your buck. I like the idea of having something plugged in so that I am not ever worried about battery life. I plan to buy one more camera soon to have one other angle of the front yard. The cameras have been holding up to the weather just fine. I am sure I could write a book on what I like about these cameras and might only have one or two negative things to say. I hope you have the same experience if you decide to take a chance and give them a try.

Easy to setup and activate. Can be cumbersome installing outside depending on the location but not Nest fault. In fact Nest provided al the "nuts and bolt" that you will require. This product would be even better if Nest provides 24-48 hours of video history FREE and make them more competitive with the other products.

I purchased the two pack exterior nest cams. There is a magnetic holder for the cameras allowing easy adjustment. I took the extra time to run the power cords behind exterior walls. It has plenty of extra screws and supplies making installation pretty easy (I'm at moderate DIY capabilities). I've already told several of my coworkers and showed off the app. I truly think this is an excellent exterior camera that seamlessly fits well with my nest thermostat, smoke detectors and interior nest cam. I'm happy with this purchase and would recommend it -- especially if you have existing nest products.

The cameras were easy to install and set up. Just make sure the settings are correct so they do not turn off automatically. We have had them a month and truly love the product. We have not had to have a copy of a video made yet, but I hope we do not have to.

    Best outdoor cam so far

I've used multiple outdoor cams now, and this is by far the best cloud-service based cam I've seen. The Ring Stick-up is nice, but there's a delay since it's battery powered. The Flir cam is decent, but the night vision is terrible. This cam has great 1080p video, both day and night. The only thing people might not like is the Nest Aware subscription cost, as it is pricey compared to some others. What you get from it though seems worth it to me, so I don't have a problem paying for it. You do get a 30 day trial period when you sign up though, so you can try it for yourself and decide. The camera comes with a 25' cord too, which is fantastic. Most of the other plugged in cams don't come with anything as long, and have required me to use extension cords in the past. I prefer the plugged in cams since they generally record all the time, compared to battery operated cams that only record when they detect motion (which results in a delay in recording).

Camera is pretty darn good, the picture and sound quality is awesome. The viewing area is also pretty awesome. Easy to install it did go off line after I installed it, I had to take it down to get it to work again, but since then have had no problems

Nest is a good product that is easy to use. The transaction at Best Buy was easy. Google purchased Nest and is trying to make an easy transition to the Google platform and new services, but their video recording offer is a little confusing. The camera is easy to set up. The only difficulty that you may come across is having to install an outlet near the camera. You may have to hire an electrician to help with installation for that reason alone. Very good video quality.

The camera looks and functions well. The quality of the picture is great. I The Nest app is excellent. I wish Nest would come out with more products, like a door lock. There are others on the market but I don't want to have a different app for each connected device. The way we use this is simply to check who is at the front door when the door bell rings. I have turned off the notifications when the camera senses movement because I don't really need it for that purpose.

When researching the hardest decision was between the Nest and a Ring - wireless vs wired was what was making it difficult. Overall, it was the Nest that won and I am happy with my choice (just 1 month so far to be fair!). They have a great video quality both day and night. The set up was VERY easy (took less than 1hr to put up both). They've held up great over the summer heat and intense storms. The app is super easy, only stumbles a few times with connecting, but it's so quick. Highly recommend.

I am very impressed with this camera. Highs: Extremely easy to setup and mount. Very clear 1080 resolution Able to listen and speak through camera. Great app. Notifications are great and playback of video is also great. Con: Without the nest subscription, the camera is extremely limited to real lime viewing and only viewing clips for past 3 hours. You must get the subscription to get all the features of this camera. Subscription is expensive. But I'd rather spend the money on real time alerts and monitoring than pay for an alarm service with central monitoring

Great outdoor camera. Very clear and easy to connect. Only downside is the subscription cost. $100 for first camera and $50 additional camera a year for nest aware. That's for a 10 day recording.
