FALSE Advertisement! Do NOT buy. Don’t commit the same mistake I did. This is the worst money I ever spent. The alerts are useless! This is the dumbest smart camera I’ve ever seen. Think of recording events and receiving annoying notification every time a rain drop falls, or snow comes, or a cloud passes by! or a car passing by at night! Google is not telling you: 1) This useless camera only uses difference in color to create events: think about every shadow, cloud, rain reflected by its own light, etc - yes, it will be reported. THiS IS NOT for outdoors. 2) Their smart detection is useless: Pick between People, or other things. How the heck would I avoid all of the items on number one. So you are telling me you actually can only detect people? What happened to detecting animals, and packages, and cars stopping on your driveway? Nope 3) They sell you Nest Aware subscription to create zones and “avoid” nay movement outside of the zone? Except from natural events like rain I guess, right? How do you configure a zone outdoors that doesn’t pick up sunlight changes and/or rain? You might as well not call this an outdoor camera then. 4) If you intend to pass the power cable through your wall, be ready to make a whole bigger than a 25cents coin - this ridiculous cable comes with an USB surrounded by a fixed protector that requires opening up a much larger hole than you would think. 5) nest aware cancellation only cancels for the next billing cycle - good luck with annual subscription 6) Their support forum doesn’t solve any problems. They tell you to try ridiculous things instead of acknowledging they have the problems above. Just Google rain alerts for nest cam. When they can’t argue, they finally respond “oh, yes, we will pass it along for future enhancements”. Are you serious? You are selling this as a SMART camera. There is nothing smart about it. Google products = one disappointment after another. This is a complete failure. I don’t usually write reviews, but this is outrageous and you should be aware.

For $200 I was expecting a better performing camera. Other than that the integration and usability are excellent.

These cameras are the best, I have 6 of them around the house.

I love nest cams but they are expensive and you need to pay a monthly fee to record.

It says someone there when it is just a car on street driving by. Picture is really good. We feel safer having it when away from home.

I love the product and camera extension cord is good size if you don’t have a plug nearby.

These cameras have been pretty reliable. Some issues where a restart fixed it.

good camera but draw back is this camera use so much internet bandwidth for recording that would push ISP bandwidth allow over limit.
