Overpriced - underperforming

Owned for 1 month when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was adding this to another dude if my fathers house where I already have a nest camera installed. I aimed it at both the front door and driveway. It did not trigger notifications for movement at the front door even though it is clearly covered. Also, I tried sharing access with my other siblings, but if you don’t have a gmail email address, that’s a No Go. Another problem with Nest cameras is that you can’t pause a video while looking at it in a smart phone, you have to be on a computer to do that. Finally, if you don’t pay extra for the monthly cloud backup, any playback is pretty useless. Nest and Google need to step up their game, because there are so many other cameras out there that do more for a fraction of the cost (I’m using Wyze at another property and been very happy with that.)

Works great...intermittently!

Even with a good WiFi signal the cameras go off-line 25% of the time. I'm hoping for a firmware update that will improve the signal stability. As is this time, I would recommend the Arlo Q plus for indoor and the Arlo Pro for outdoor settings over the Quest camera
