Would return but I painted the power cable to match house.

The issue may be caused by an interference between your Wi-Fi router and Nest Cam Outdoor. To isolate the issue, we suggest temporarily moving your Nest Cam Outdoor inside, and closer to the router. If you notice an improvement with performance and its connectivity, you can consider a Wi-Fi extender between the router, and where you have the camera mounted to improve the connection and lessen the interference. You may also contact your internet service provider for their recommendation as a congested network may also drop the camera from the network.

Nest cameras need to be plugged into a power outlet using their included cable and AC adapter for continuous video streaming and alerts. Because Nest cameras don’t rely on batteries, they can constantly stream video instead of only turning on after they sense motion. You also don’t need to worry about changing them or losing your video feed if the batteries die. Nest cameras stream video to the cloud, so you’d need to have your camera, modem and router connected to a source of uninterrupted power. Batteries can be unreliable, and the charge will eventually run out.

I then uninstalled it and went back to bestbuy and switched it for the new version of it and I love it. No disappointments at all.

However the real shining star of my experience is the absolutely horrendous Google support. Buy the Arlo cameras instead or something else. Tying it into either the nest app or the google home app sucks too. Don’t bother with it.

Posted .Our Nest Aware subscription service has three different prices for the service itself. They are listed as $5/month or $50/year, $10/month or $100/year, and $30/month or $300/year for the first Nest Cam with any additional Nest Cam set up being up to half off the original price.

I can't talk through the cameras using my samsung phone, cuz for some reason there is a known issue with Samsungs not being able to talk through the cameras (you can only faintly hear it) but this issue has been around for over a year and nobody's solving it... so now i have 2 devices for which i cannot communicate to the cameras - I also have the next hub). You can't schedule alerts for only night-time, so if you want notifications, your device blows up with notifications all day with normal activity. So, overall, i feel ripped off. too expensive for what you get with the google suite. Too many obvious User-Experience issues that should've been solved before being able to sell it.

Install of each outside camera has to be done at the router. If something goes wrong you have to take it down and set it back up next to the router. Many error codes and overall messy install. If you change your internet router your have total each camera down and bring it to the router. Called tech support after two days of issues and this was the resolution. Even though we have internet service in our entire yard and house the syncing of the camera needs to be done close the router. I wish I had bought another system but had the nest thermostat so went with them.

I took back the outdoor camera and got the nest outdoor camera. Way better than the ring in every way. The motion on this is so much better and the picture quality is fantastic day and night. If nest made a doorbell I'd buy it too and sell my ring doorbell. The 24-7 recording was one thing that sold me. I do think the 10 day storage fee is a bit pricy is why it didn't get 5 stars. If they offered a 5 day storage for half price it would be the perfect camera. Ring annual pricing is dirt cheap... but it only records when motion is picked up and by the time it starts recording the person is gone or halfway gone.

The picture capture isn’t useful at all. I had a incident of my neighbors kids hit my house, and was unable to save the video even after contacting the nest support staff.
