Great cameras the have a decent range of view. Very easy to install. App is very user friendly. You do have to pay for a service if you want the best features but only $12 a month so not bad.

The Nest outdoor camera is a DIY alternative with great picture quality. Setup is easy but installation is a little challenging as the unit has a large inline transformer and a fixed length cord...and of course it’s either to short or to long. Nest Aware is FAR to expensive.

Cameras are easy to install. All the hardware is included. The Nest Aware app allows you to receive alerts when there is activity or sound detected by the cameras. A snapshot of the activity is emailed as well. If you pay for the Nest subscription ($6or$12), you can view 24/7 recorded videos and save clips to the cloud, otherwise the free subscription only shows snapshots of alerts during the last 3 hours. The speaker on the camera has a very low volume, it is not ideal to communicate with visitors. The infrared camera allows a good quality image, just make sure no objects are near the camera, otherwise you will be unable to capture a clear image since the brightness is not adjustable.

As always the Nest products are extremely easy to setup and this camera has a great image. I also subscribed to Nest Aware so I can go back several days to see activity caught on camera. The IOS app is lacking a bit as the captured video is often slow to play back and pauses a lot. Overall a good buy.

Picture quality is great and app works perfect. The only draw back is the monthly fee to record feed.

I HAVE A RENTAL CABIN IN THE MOUNTAINS AND USE THIS TO SEE GUESTS COME UP THE DRIVEWAY. IT PICKS UP MOVEMENT EVEN AT NIGHT. SIMPLE TO INSTALL. SIMPLE TO SET UP. EASY TO SCAN HISTORY OF RECORDINGS. LOVE IT SO MUCH, JUST BOUGHT ANOTHER FOR HOME USE.

I have other Nest products and this is another great product. Clear video with no lag but of course will be up to the WiFi connection. It will let you know if it sees a person. Not like most that will just say that there is motion.

I have been very happy with this camera. Quality is great. Coverage is great. Easy to install. Makes me feel safe home or away! I did have to purchase an internet booster for better signal but works great!

The pros: The Nest Cam 2-pack is great for anyone that wants to start their home security setup. The kit includes every thing you would need to start the installation process, but would require for you to drill in your wall in order to get the cables through and connect it to the Wi-Fi adapter. The camera does have a very high quality Full HD 1080P sensor as well as, a very powerful mic. Everything is pretty simple to setup even on the IOS app, which is the one I am using for my setup. The cons: The bad part is that, the speaker is a bit weak when talking to someone staying outside on the front porch or front door of your home. The other negative about the Nest cam is, that the mic can be a bit sensitive and will pickup sounds from crickets and some other insects, which will result in receiving a motion notification from the Nest app on either IOS or Android.

I tried the Arlo before the Nest because it was wireless but ended up returning it because it had a delay do to being battery operated. Nest so far has giving me on time recording and great quality picture with clear audio.

We're already Nest Aware subscribers, thanks to our Nest Hello doorbell. The custom zones and notifications are really fantastic. The camera was pretty easy to install. Just be aware, if you have to cut a hole to run the cable, it'll have to be pretty big. We knew this going in, so I wasn't disappointed there. We tested the wifi in the spot we'd be installing it so we had confidence it would work there. Unfortunately, that's where one of the stars comes off. We've had some gaps in the recording (camera is offline) to the point where we're definitely getting a mesh wifi system for the house. If you're concerned about the image quality of a 1080 camera not being good enough, I would put those concerns to rest. Granted the farthest place I'm monitoring is 50 ft away. I can see faces just fine.

Very easy to install through wifi as well as mounting to the wall. Very clear picture. It provides you with the ability to make clips, as wells as notifications for sounds and movement. You can make zones as well. Well worth the money!
