With security cameras you definitely get what you pay for. The Nest camera is super easy to set up. The packaging is great and includes everything you need to mount and install the camera. To get full benefit of the camera you do need Nest Protect service which does have a service fee. This service lets you archive video footage. If you just want to stream the camera to your phone and don't care about archived footage, then you can get away without it.

Would recommend to anyone looking to catch kids, pets or anything else!

Almost easy to setup (scanning the barcode was a pain).. Video looks crisp and can easily be controlled by multiple people in the house. Does give a false alarm when it changes from regular mode to night mode. Audio talk is not the best, has its issues where you cant hear or its muffled. Cant talk about the plan service since I am still in the 30day free plan but I think after that I get only images and no videos if I dont subscribe. The sad part of not subscribing is that there is no person detection.(they should atleast keep that)

My girlfriend purchased the Nest cam system after an attempted break in at her home. They were professionally installed and the quality of the cameras are outstanding. The color is crisp and vivid and people talking on the sidewalk can be heard. When we are out she gets messages to her smart phone of whats going on around her home. And the raccoons at 4am in the backyard are picked up just as well. We would recommend this product highly.

The camera has good vision and motion detection. The price for recording concerns me.

Had the Nest Doorbell for a year so decided to add cameras for home surveillance to stay in Nest ecosystem. So far cameras have been excellent in detecting any strangers, and app works well on phone. Major negative is difficulty of installation. So challenging that one thinks maybe should have opted for battery camera system. Took 4+ hours to install 1st camera, and electrician needed for second. Advice: check out battery systems friends have before buying.

I love my Nest thermostat and protect unit, so I was excited to add the outdoor cams. My cameras probably disconnect 10x per day, and apparently this is a known issue. I wish I had done my research, there are a lot of people with this problem and Nest does not take responsibility for the issue. When they do work they are great, but reliability is key in a security system. Also, the install on these are a pain, and I do installs as part of my job. I hope you learn from my mistake and do not purchase this product.

Other than monthly fee to monitor it’s great. I knew there was a fee but it increases with each additional camara which is a bummer otherwise great just make sure u have good wifi

This is a great camera for the low cost! Great for proof that's needed when a delivery guy says he delivered a large, heavy box of a well known brand of cookware to your door when in fact he never even pulled in your driveway! Also great for finding out who's ringing your doorbell before you open the door, is it a girl scout selling cookies or a salesman selling solar panels? (I'll answer for the cookies!!) All in all, we are very satisfied!!

Once again Nest Kills it with an awesome product that looks sleek and sexy...lol. The video is great. The only issue I had is I had to get a WIFI extender due to the location, but I knew that going in. Only down side is the Cloud Based recording is paid per camera and not just a Subscription based no matter how many cameras you have.
