I have both Arlo Pro and the Nest Cam Outdoor cameras. I find the quality of the recording of the Nest Camera to be better than the Arlo Pro. I also like the continuous 24/7 recording that the Nest camera provides. One thing I hope there will be an improvement on with the Nest camera is the ability to configure the alerts. What I mean by that is, with the Arlo Pro, for EVERY detection, I will see an alert. I never miss one. Never. With the Nest, it works differently. When you get an alert for a motion detection, there is a quiet window period where there will be no more alerts. For the next 20-30 minutes or so after an alert, the Nest system stops sending you alerts. When I spoke with Nest customer service, they indicated that is by design and is not configurable. So if you get the first alert, but 15 minutes later another event had occurred, one would not get another alert for it. Nest should allow this time period to be configurable. Other than that, I have been very happy with the Nest camera in general.

As with all Nest products they all work seamlessly together in the Nest app. Installation of the camera can be as easy or difficult as you want it to be. I chose to mount the camera on the soffit above the garage door and didn't want any wires showing. I drilled a hole in the soffit and fished the power cable through the attic and ran it to the power outlet for the garage door opener.

Nest cameras are clear and work great night and day.

I bought this camera not for security but to spy on a bird nest over my front door. It works great for that purpose and the birds aren't bothered by its presence. The nest is still busy so I haven't turned the camera to be able to see people at or approaching my door, but I imagine it will be nice to have that view as well. The picture is pretty clear though not, as expected, as good at night. It's possible that is due to the camera's proximity to the nest.

Great camera. Easy setup, Great picture. Has paid for itself twice over by watching service people who said they were there and werent and lawn care guy that was there and sat in his truck during his entire visit and never sprayed. Alerts me with live feed to my phone whenever someone comes down the drive or walks in front. I will get another

My only regret is not going with the nest IQ version of the camera. I've bought a several IQs and the difference is tremendous. Installing these cameras can be tricky (trust me). A nest pro is your best way to go about installing these bad boys. I'm very impressed by the nest brand and would recommend them to anyone. My next purchase is going to be the doorbell.

Fairly easy-to-install camera with high-res video quality, overall use is efficient

Easy installation... great app... and best thing is it records 24/7 (unlike Ring that records only with Motion)... also has option to remove night vision for those homes with floodlights and would like to record with color at night. Only down side is microphone/speaker works like a radio... cant speak over eachother like an intercom...

After trying a couple other connected cams, settling on Nest was the right choice. They’re solidly built, and their recording plans are wonderful.

Simple to use and install. Very good clarity,motion sensors and night mode
