Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Compared to the Original Nest Hello Doorbell, this one lacks the wide angle lens which is very desirable for a lot of folks that have a wider porch area. With many blind spots, you can easily be missed by the camera. The speaker is also too quiet due to cheaper parts. It can make it difficult for the person to hear what you are saying depending on the background noise. The pros of the camera would definitely be the night vision. It’s pretty clear at night. For the price since it is cheaper than the original, it’s a very average doorbell. Sad for a Google product as they should be making a better product by taking on a brands original purpose.

Pros and cons of google doorbell

If somthing happens middel of night once u wake up footage will be gone so dumb. Once in while it will stop recording audio too.

Otherwise the chime will NOT work. I purchased a transformer and it took about 15 minutes to install, afterwards, the chime worked.

Facial recognition compatible with the Google home system makes everything easy. Video quality for doorbell is great as well as the night vision.

Killed my doorbell so I had to buy a new one. It hasn't been the same since. Told me it was bc my doorbell was old, it worked perfectly before he installed it, but now not at all.

Detects package thiefs

It also determines animals vs people. Great item to have. The talk back feature seems to not work so much but maybe its my internet since im in a bery rural area.

- Check the Google Home app or Nest app permissions:
- For Android devices: Go to the phone’s Settings > Apps > Google Home or Nest Permissions, and make sure the Microphone is enabled.
- For iOS devices: Go to the device’s Settings > Google Home > Permission, and make sure the Microphone is enabled.
- Test if the device’s microphone is working.
- Open the default voice recorder app or any other app that uses your device’s microphone and test the device’s microphone on the app.
- Check if the device is connected to a Bluetooth device that may be serving as the microphone.

Being able to name the faces is really nice and when they ring the doorbell it tells you who is there.
