Q: Does this work with the Nest app?
A: No only the Google Home app not the Nest app. See Overview and Features above
A: The new Nest Doorbell (2nd gen, wired) needs to be powered by wires delivering 16 - 24 V AC, and at least 10 VA (in North America) or 12 - 24 V AC and at least 8 VA (in Europe). While the Nest doorbell can replace most wired doorbells, there are some cases where the doorbell system, including doorbell wires, either doesn’t give enough power or gives too much power. In some homes, you may need to upgrade your transformer to meet the doorbell's higher power requirements. However, some doorbell systems are incompatible like a traditional doorbell system that uses very little power, so it’s important to make sure that the wires and transformer (power supply) meets the required amount of power so the doorbell can record videos.
A: Great question. Most mechanical chimes should be compatible with the Nest doorbell wired 2nd gen. Make sure you have connected the chime connector if it’s required. Without the chime connector, you might experience chime buzzing or unexpected chimes. Here’s a like with more details: https://support.google.com/googlenest/answer/9247132
Q: How do you get the battery out to charge it?
A: Hey there, Kiddo. The Nest Doorbell (wired, 2nd gen) draws power from your system, so it doesn’t need to be removed for recharging. Here’s a guide with more details: https://support.google.com/googlenest/answer/12570869

Oh man, let me tell you about this Google Nest Doorbell Wired (2nd Gen) in Snow—it's like the wizard's eye at my door, straight out of a D&D campaign! Picture this: I'm knee-deep in crafting Goblin Sacks for my MTG crew over at ddwizards.com (shoutout to @ddwizards and @ddwizard on X for the daily chaos), and suddenly, ding-dong! Not the pizza guy, but my phone buzzes with crystal-clear HD video of a squirrel plotting world domination on my porch. No more "Ash can't ketchem" moments— this bad boy catches every sneaky visitor with its smart detection, even in the dead of night, thanks to that night vision glow. As a self-taught bag-slinging entrepreneur who's been grinding through bulk card hauls and YouTube shorts to claw my way back to the big leagues (you know, that epic quest for success after a few plot twists), this doorbell's my new sidekick. It integrates seamlessly with my Google Home setup, yelling "Intruder alert!" (okay, politely notifying) faster than a Planeswalker summoning a dragon. The wired install was a breeze—no wizardry required, just plug and play—and now my front door feels like a fortified castle. Bonus: the Snow color blends right in, looking sleeker than a Mythic Rare foil. If you're juggling a small biz like me, or just want to level up your home security without the hassle, grab this Nest Doorbell. It's not just a gadget; it's the guardian your lair deserves. Five stars, Google—you've cast a spell on me!

I’ve had the Google Nest Wired Doorbell Camera for a while now, and I honestly love it. The video quality is super clear — both day and night — and I really like how quickly it sends notifications to my phone. I can see exactly who’s at my door, even if they don’t ring the bell. The setup was pretty simple, and since it’s wired, I never have to deal with recharging or replacing batteries. The motion detection is accurate, and it does a good job of telling the difference between people, packages, and cars. The two-way audio is also really clear, which is great when I need to talk to delivery drivers or visitors when I’m not home. Plus, it looks nice — modern and not too bulky on the wall. Overall, it just gives me peace of mind knowing I can check on my home anytime. Definitely worth it if you want something reliable and easy to use.
