The 2nd Gen Nest doorbell hits on all cylinders. Now with total control within the Home app, that really integrates it with so many other smart appliances we have. Camera is outstanding. I really like the opportunity to narrow the field for alerts. There is a fair amount of traffic on our street - auto and pedestrian, and I have the alert status narrowed down to when a person actually comes onto our property. Nice touch. Choice of colors is a nice upgrade as well.

Loved this upgrade, as my prior nest doorbell chime stopped. Openbox, Came fully like new and in 2 days. Installed in 10 mins, incl indoor chime which now works again. And added to existing google home\aware in 2 mins. Worthwhile upgrade. Better camera quality, albeot different aspect ratio, its fine. I'm already on google home \aware app anyway, as this 2nd gen does not do Nest, im fine with that, it works well with my other cameras on google Home A worthwhile upgrade for me. This is my second Nest Wired Doorbell. I had the 1st gen, and this seems to be an improvement with motion detection (sun/clouds changes especially). The price of the subscription (which is almost a must-have) has recently increased to $80 a year, so consider that when comparing.

The google nest works great except I was unable to get it to connect to my previous electric chime. Otherwise it would be 5 stars.

Works great, but I very much dislike that I have to purchase additional services to get it to notify me of activity. And it runs off a different ap from my internal Nest Camera, Thermostat, and Fire Detectors.

It sucks that it's not 2k like the new one . However the HDR is pretty good.
