Nest Doorbell 2nd Gen to 3rd Gen

Better clarity in night mode and overall improved clarity. "Fish eye" lens takes some getting used to - so research that view prior to purchase if you do not like it - don't make the leap. But I like the expanded view.

The only drawback is gen 3 doorbells are not able to be connected to the Nest app and must be on Google home, which is currently not as streamlined of an app. The fishbowl view takes getting used to but is fine and clear.

That entailed bringing a ladder into the house. Nothing terrible, I just thought installation would be simply replacing the push button. Also, I wish you could rotate the camera view like you can on their Nest Cams to allow for a horizontal install.

The hardest part is turning off the transformer to do the wiring. It's a 5 minute swap. If I had to suggest an improvement I wish the speaker was louder. I don't think it gets any louder than the last model.

I think the gen 2 was just a money grab tbh to fund for the gen 3. I can honestly say this is the best one they've came out with.
