The best video doorbell on the market. I tried Ring 2 & Pro. Both had some weird angles and were too wide for our purposes. Easy to install. The clarity is awesome and the zones were easy to setup also. You don’t get inundated with a bunch of messages all the time unless it’s something you should take a look at. Works flawlessly with the Nest Protect and Nest Secure. I use IFTTT to work with ARLO which is a pain sometimes.

We have it linked to our nest account so we get alerted every time some walks up to the door. This has been useful for package deliveries as well. We have the free trial of the nest aware (which is required for live alerts and recording) and plan on paying to continue it; it only costs $50 per year which is half the amount it costs us for our family of 5 to go out to dinner one time.

Nest's video doorbell is a worthy addition to its premium smart home security range

Nest does a very good job pre-qualifying the buyer as to whether this product will work in your home. They also recommend a professional installer. I have zero experience dealing with home wiring, but decided to give it a go anyway. Setup: The instructions on Nest’s website as well as on the phone App are excellent! As they recommend, you should view the short install video for an overview of the process. Once you download the Nest App & create an account, it will guide you step-by-step through the entire process with precision. I was delighted by this, especially after being disappointed so many times by other firms’ lame & inaccurate instructions for new product installs. Nest hit it out of the park in this area. I was able to install the doorbell with no issues or assistance in about 30 minutes. The product is packaged compactly & includes everything you need for installation except basics that the average homeowner would already have on hand (screwdriver, level, drill). My door frame is wood, so I didn’t need to break out the drill. Its width is very slim (1.7”), especially compared to the wider Ring we considered. It fit perfectly on the door frame covering the space of the old doorbell & looks very minimal & hi-tech! If you have google home this is your door bell. Works with google home great. Easy to install, you don’t need a pro. Took me 5 minutes. Set up notifications for movement, people etc. Best resolution on the market. Sends notifications to your phone and announces through google home that someone is at the door if you can’t hear the doorbell and live in a mansion like me.

So much better than the ring we replace it with. Quality of picture is clear.

So I found out after I bought this that I don’t have a working chime but I was able to buy an adapter to plug this into an outlet. I just fed the wire through the regular doorbell hole, through the switch hole and down my wall. Amazing. The lag is only seconds if not milliseconds long. Like no time at all. Love it.

Only issue is that you can't answer a door ring in time to answer unless you already have phone in hand. Camera quality works great.
