Good camera,very limited function w/o Nest Aware

I bought a transformer that allowed for 10v, 16v, and 24v, when set to the 16v option, the Nest Hello flashed yellow, meaning it required more power. A little disappointed in Nest in that without the Nest Aware subscription you almost get none of the advertised function, even no video clip saving for 3 hours, only picture snapshots. They should reduce the price on the unit if they are going to get you with the service forever.

Found another doorbell that was able to show camera only but could not actually talk to someone at the door through the Google Nest Hub. Love the way they work together. Good quality doorbell.

Solid Effort By Nest

We have not had any issues with lag time for the doorbell ring or for notifications, which is a win compared to other brands we've tried. The one issue I've seen is that the doorbell chime is not very loud. We've tried everything to increase the volume, but it is significantly softer than the chime was without the Nest. Makes it difficult to hear from the back of the house, but fortunately the notifications are working quickly, so we usually catch whoever is at the door.

PEELING FACEPLATE, NO HELP FROM GOOGLE CS
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.My Nest video door bell is 2 years old it is cracking and peeling on the faceplate. I figured hey no problem Google will take care of this as it is an expensive outdoor device with a 2 year warranty and it's obviously a design , manufacture issue. After trying to get some customer service I received my last email from a "Senior" customer rep. and was told NEST -GOOGLE will not do anything about this issue, The internet is full of customers reporting the same problem. I currently have over 14 Nest products in my home and I can say this will be the last one I ever buy.
