Love my Nest❤️ It’s helpful to know when packages are dropped off and for security

Great product. Easy to use and install and works great as a security camera for your porch and front yard.

BUYER BEWARE. There is an ongoing issue with many Nest Hello owners where it is no longer detecting people or packages. The Nest is easily worth a 4/5 star before this started but it has been going on for over a year now with no fix. Just google "Nest hello no longer detecting people" and you will see what I mean. And yes, I am many others have reached out to Google to ask for assistance. They all give the same unhelpful procedure. Turn it off, uninstall it, install it, reset settings, blah blah blah it doesn't work. I have sent them numerous videos showing people walking up to my door with no detection with no explanation other than "we are working on it". I even asked if they could send me a second unit just to see if it was a hardware issue but nada, they won't do that as they are convinced it is a software issue. It probably is, seeing how mine and many others worked flawlessly for a time and then randomly began experiencing this issue. For this reason alone I can NOT recommend this product to anyone until this MAJOR issue is fixed. Literally just today I asked my neighbor to pick up a package that was left on my porch (Nest didn't detect the package, another big problem) and when she went to pick it up it didn't detect her walking up in plain focus and picking it up and walking away. It only records it as motion which won't send a notification to your phone (otherwise you'll receive dozens of notifications an hour, voiding its usefulness). Essentially my Nest Hello is about useful as sticking a phone to the door and hitting record.

Great product, easy to install, Picture is clear. It is a little pricey compared to similar products but the quality makes up for it

Love the nest products and easy use of app. Install was fairly easy, however, living in a house built 50 years ago, this required an electrician to get the correct voltage going to the unit as the old door bell had a transistor (I think) that limited the voltage going to the old bell. Also, remember, to have video replay, you have to have a monthly subscription to nest, but its pretty cheap.

If your like me and have packages delivered during the day you know exactly when they are delivered. Also a great deterrent from package thieves, knowing they are caught on camera if they come up the walkway. Also it works through google home so if your in another room it notifies you over google home speakers someone is at the door. A great add to your home for sure! And add easy to install, took less than 30 minutes.

This is the second Nest Hello Doorbell I've purchased (this one was a gift for my in-laws) - I installed it for them as well, and the only difference I can see between the Nest version I bought last year and this current Google model is that the logo on the front is now just a "G" instead of "nest". Just as before, install was pretty simple (especially if you're handy and comfortable working with wires) - we installed ours with a physical door chime. You will need to make sure your transformer will work with this doorbell (it needs a 24V or 16V transformer - easy to replace if you have access to where your original transformer was installed). If you need help, look up "One Hour Smart Home" on google or youtube and you'll find some great articles and videos on how-to's and compatible chimes/transformers. Moving on, the nightvision is great, app is great, the AI detection works remarkably well with people's faces and packages, zone detection is awesome for stopping annoying alerts from coming through. I do wish that the footage was a little sharper, but it is pretty amazing for being a doorbell. I also do wish the front plate came in a white option. The one downside is that it does take a few seconds to get a notification on your phone, so there will be a slight delay of around 10 seconds before you're able to hop on the app and talk to whoever is at your door. Monthly fee for backup storage is very reasonable ($6/month), especially if you're using other Nest cameras since the price doesn't increase when adding more cameras. Overall I'd definitely recommend it - I haven't had any issues when it comes to connectivity issues - you shouldn't either if you have good WiFi coverage in your home, however, if you don't, you may want to look into updating that before moving to a smart doorbell!

Works great.. I am able to now see who comes to the door...and I can even talk to them, with nest aware ($6/month). It will categorize when it records clips by motion, sound, person etc.. I like that I can filter by these. Also you get notifications when a package is delivered and when someone retrieves it. Nice!

The setup process for the Google Nest Hello was simple at first until I realized I had to undo my Works with Nest setup and download the Google Home app for this to work with the Google Nest mini as the chime since I do not have an existing chime. Since I had to create a new Google account for me then invite myself using my wife's account, the Google Nest mini stopped responding as the chime the next day and it took a bit of troubleshooting and I had to unlink everything from our account which included the Nest Thermostat, Nest Hello and Nest mini. Once I reinstalled everything, it is back up and running ok for now, but the account still says I am not the owner. Make sure before setup that you have an established Google account that you will be utilizing, I had my Nest Thermostat under a non Google account. I really like the features of this smart doorbell, the vide is crisp at all times of day, the speaker is pretty clear and if you sign up for the Nest Aware subscription you get facial detection and once you add a name to the face, it announces the name over the Nest mini. I looked at reviews of other smart doorbells and decided to go with the Nest Hello even though it was priced the highest and if you want the ability to save recordings you have to pay a monthly fee that starts at $6 a month. Notifications are pretty quick, and that all depends on your wifi connection, we have eero mesh system throughout the house and get excellent reception. I will be opting in for the Nest Aware subscription so this will add to the cost of the entire product. There are companies out there that provide free subscriptions for recordings, but their product is not always the best, and there will be a new RIng 2 doorbell released soon at half the price of the Nest Hello with pretty good specs and the Ring subscription is half off as well starting at $3 a month, but the design of the Ring doorbell is a bit bulky and does not offer the 4:3 aspect ratio.

First of all, I'd like to express on how much I like this doorbell. This has been my first step into having a smart home and I've loved every second of it so far. I'd STILL recommend this doorbell to anyone outside of the few hiccups I've experienced. Now to the issues I've had. Small disconnects here and there... I have a mesh network at my home and its relatively small home but its hard to believe my home network would have been the issue for a all these disconnected here and there... Second issue... I had a HUGE time trying to get Nest Aware activated on my camera. I WANT TO SPEND MY MONEY, I said out loud as I consistently waited 2-3 days for it to activate before going over to live chat. My cameras subscription would just sit there in pending and would never activate eliminating the possibility of 24/7 recording until this got fixed. Finally after going over to Live chat I was able to get a free 30 days of Nest Aware and it finally was added to my camera on the Nest website. The 3rd and final issue I've had that seems to be the nail in the coffin. I have my night vision set to auto, so anytime it gets dark enough the night vision will switch over automatically. Well, over night when it finally got back to daylight I started noticing issues with the color of my camera feed. It was a Purple Hue all the way across. I assumed that a simple restart would fix the issue. No success. Went ahead and turned off the curcuit it was on to hard reset the Nest Hello. Still no success after a hard reset. Changed quality options and it actually made it change color to a Pink Hue instead of a purple Hue. Did some digging online and people are saying its a mechanical failure due to the IR/Night vision not switching over correctly and staying on. Luckily Nest support has been ever so kind on this situation and I'm hoping to get a replacement. I have geek squad protection on this too so that is also a route I can go, but for the issues I'd still recommend this doorbell. Hopefully this is just a minor case of bad luck and my next one won't have issues. After a few hoops to jump over, the product is still a great product. I just wish I didn't have all these minor annoyances after only owning the product for 2 months.

I love this door bell. I feel a lot more safe, especially with the alerts and it's a great way to see if packages are delivered and when. It has a very wide range and I can even see across the street and down the road. I am not handy at all and this was very easy to install. The hard part was doing it in the freezing cold in the Chicago suburbs having to be outside. The YouTube instructions were very easy to follow. Great product.

The Nest Doorbell has an excellent visual picture and good sound.

This camera is an upgrade from the ring I used to have. You just have to make sure your home is compatible. I didn’t think I was going to be able to see everything from the angle I had to place it but I see absolutely everything coming up to my door. It also does well detecting people and packages. The constant recording is way better than only recording after sensing movement.

Installation was easy, and the quality of the image is awesome. The app is easy to use as well.

This was the easiest set up to date of any device I have around my home. The camera looks great at night, connected to WiFi fast, always alerts me if I have someone at the door. The speaker could be a little louder she speaking to someone at the door but that’s my preference. I won’t be speaking to many anyway. The camera looks better than my friends Ring Camera. Much more crisp

The doorbell is very nice. We got it initially because we've had packages stolen from our front door (nothing like that has happened since we've gotten this), but it's been nice just being able to open the app and see what's going on outside. My unit has been in the sun since installation and the top most layer seems to be peeling, but that hasn't had an impact on its operation.

The google home/nest application walks you step by step though the whole home installation. Quick and easy set up process took under 30 minutes to configure and connect. A few small gripes are that the doorbell still requires the nest app when Google states that they are all integrated. In addition the camera doesn't automatically configure to the Google Home app and will need to be reset to show up at installation. Overall great video quality and I love the package alerts.

Very easy installation. Works great. Will buy another one for the back door.
