Great addition to a Google home ecosystem
||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love being able to see who is at my door, and I like that this integrates with other Google products - e.g., when the doorbell is rung, the video feed pops up on my Google displays.

Love this doorbell!
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Love this doorbell. Quality is great. The only thing that sucks is you need to pay for a subscription once your free trial is up to get face recognition and video recording. It's pretty expensive, but if you don't care for that, the doorbell is great.

Awesome
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I used to think my August Doorbell Cam (v1 and v2) was pretty good. When I switched to the Nest because the August was not compatible with my Google Wifi, I had no idea how awful my August was. Costumer service at August had me convinced that my network, walls and doorbell transformer were to blame. Nope. All excuses. The Nest works flawlessly ON THE SAME EXACT SETUP. I cant believe that I can actually pull up HD video in less than 5 seconds, connect every time, and have a lengthy conversation with the UPS guy from Disneyland with not skips, errors or lost connections. If you are struggling with poor performing doorbells and have a suspicion that your life could be better, rest assured Nest does it right. PS Face detection works, but is kind of creepy.

Video quality is ok monthly fees are a bit pricey.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I did not have an old door bell to wire too so I went with the wall wart method. I drilled a hole from outside my door trim through to the inside of the trim. Then I drilled a second whole on the side of the trim to run the wire down the side. You would not know it was there at all after using white tape to cover the wire down the side and fed it to a wall outlet and spackle the first whole so its sealed. You can get the wall wart on amazon for half the price of the Nest wall wart. I use a google mini to announce someone is at the door which works well it chimes and says someone is at the door plus you get a notification on your ios device. They give you a week of free recordings but after that you are on the monthly tread mill. If you don't pay for the recording you don't get the nice package notifications etc. You just get a single pic instead of video which half the time is too late to see what happened by the door. But you can always have a live feed to a computer or ipad etc. Video quality is pretty good but you cant read a caar license plate, anything in the distance is blocky. 4k camera would be mutch better.

Great quality camera
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The nest hello camera is a great investment. Its quality is better than the ring doorbell, although more expensive it does the job. You do need to subscribe to their $5 monitoring otherwise it's kind of useless, but other than that a great product.

Amazing doorbell
||Posted . Owned for 6 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.amazing quality in video and audio and the Nest app is super easy to use. Anyone who rings the door shows up on all the Google Home screens in the house. I can also talk to them through it as well. Such an amazing doorbell.

Great camera and doorbell!
||Posted . Owned for 4 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This device gives me piece of mind when I’m home and away. Detects motion, sounds and you can detect people specifically if you prefer. I love knowing when packages are delivered and it gives me a clear view of anyone coming up to out front door. Well worth it!

Superior to Ring
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I recently replaced my Ring Pro 2 with the Nest Doorbell, and couldn't be happier. The video quality is better, the playback is more user friendly with a continuous video feed that bookmarks actions and identifies them as people or motion, and includes facial recognition.

good video and sesing security
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Works well however it always rings the interior bell when someone walks by the camera without touching the ring button. Will swap the bell to see if something went wrong in the bell. Video quality is great. Installation was easy as I already had a powered wired doorbell before.

Excellent Doorbell Camera
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I replaced the Ring doorbell with this one because I was missing too many motion events. The continuous recording works perfectly and I really like how it integrated in to our Google Home, announcing when someone is at the door. Installation was a breeze and it looks really nice, too.

Great picture, good value
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great picture. Easy to use. Works well with our other nest stuff. We already have Nest Aware so there no fee. You get what you pay for and this is the best. We had August before, but it was garbage compared to this.

Good doorbell
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Really good doorbell. Works well with Google ecosystem. Unit does get hot but that is normal with other video camera doorbells. Did not have a need to use adapters for my doorbell. Easy set up. Looks better than competing doorbells and also has a reasonably priced cloud service

Good addition to a smart home
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Installation was very easy and straightforward, and the device records video and detects faces with good accuracy. I recommend subscribing to the nest cloud service so you can access footage for a few days at a time. It's good for security and a good addition to a smart home.

upgrading from first gen Ring
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. To be fair this was an upgrade from a first gen ring doorbell. Picture quality is great. Far more responsive and quick to use when doorbell is pressed or movement. love the way it can tell me when packages are delivered and fits in better with our home's google ecosystem. Installation was a tad more involved then the ring, but not difficult and all necessary parts included along with easy to follow instructions on the app and youtube. Much happier with my nest doorbell and am likely to now add an additional outdoor camera next time they are on sale. Was very happy to wait to get with black friday sales pricing.

Hardwired bell
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’ve had it a couple weeks and so far I really like it. Installation isn’t as easy as Google makes it out to be. There aren’t really any included directions. Just a paper card showing what’s in the box. The directions are supplied via the app when you run it. Every home is a case by case situation so that’s probably why the directions are so vague. It’s poorly designed in the sense that you pretty much have to install it and then see how the camera angle is. Then if you need to make changes, take it all off again and start over. Potentially making new holes and dealing with the wire situation. My setup is directly into the woodwork and in a 90 degree corner. I have no room to push the wires back into when installing. So they must be shortened. Google provides extensions with push locks that are so big, they may or may not fit behind the doorbell based on how yours is installed. I also had to buy small butt wire splicers to connect the wires. So, when I installed it, I was getting too much of the sky and the nearest wall on the left. I then had to take it off the wall again, I added the included wedge and that was still not enough angle/tilt. I ordered a 3rd party adjustable swivel online and went to the hardware store and bought thick plumbing washers. When the new 3rd party swivel arrived, I installed it again, (making even more new holes because I couldn’t reuse the last holes with the included wood screws) and put the plumbing washer through the top screw in the back to give it downward tilt. That all really worked great. It has a really wide angle view. Take door chime install was pretty easy, it did supply images of normal setups and it was just connecting a couple wires and you might have to let the new Google chime sit outside your door chime housing depending if there’s room enough to fit it in the box. If you have OCD and things have to be perfectly straight, depending on how this needs to be installed, this doorbell might not be for you. Without the mods, 35% of the view was my wall and it was cutting people off at the knees and I couldn’t see the ground. With the mods, everything is now in view. My first free cloud month hasn’t ended yet so I don’t know exactly how much the subscription will be, but I’d probably buy it agin if need be.

Good, but pricey smart doorbeel
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I wanted a doorbell that would work with Google Home. This smart doorbell is pricer than most similar models and doesn't provide any significant advantages over cheaper smart doorbells. Setup was easy. There is occasion lag between when someone comes to the door and when you get notified.
