Kind of disappointed. Not sure if it’s me or just can’t seem to get a great view of people. The ring is slow. The over all functionality is clunky as compared to say the Ring door bell I see other have.

very good image quality but loses the connection several times a day this can be a serious problem for security now 7 months of use has stopped the connection now I will have to ask for assistance for this product too

Shuts off requiring a total reset every 3 months or so. Not sure if it's losing wifi, or what, but just totally fails and will not reconnect without deleting and re-adding.

Do not purchase have still yet waited for geek squad to come install the product.

It has been great to spy on my dogs while I’m home or away from home. If they are up to mischief, I can talk to them to calm them down. It’s also great to see who’s at your door before opening the door. The video clips are great also. The one thing I didn’t know before purchase is that I would need a “ monthly” paid subscription to continue using & seeing the live feed videos, after the one month trial has ended. “ What a bummer.”

I really like this new additional to the Nest, as I can keep track of my home's security all in one system. Only downside upon installing is that the back-plate is not a universal fit so it had to be drilled and somewhat jerry-rigged to fit.

This doorbell camera is basically useless. What you want to be able to do is get notifications and then review those notifications to see if there are any that concern you. With this doorbell cam it has literally hundreds of false markers for sounds everyday. Google/Nest changed the microphone algorithm which makes the doorbell cam pick up the slightest sounds and mark them. There is no microphone sensitivity setting. So when you go to review your video history, you have to sort through hundreds of erroneous sound markers per day to see the actual motion markers. Basically rendering this device useless. Had spent dozens of hours with google nest support and they acknowledged the issue but won’t refund my money. Do not buy this device.

The first nest I received was installed by the geek squad who were great but the nest doorbell was defective and needed to be returned. The installers came back with another doorbell and it worked for 2 days then my doorbell stopped ringing and goes offline at least 4 times a day. After being on hold for over a hour with Best Buy customer service, I told them about the problems I was having and they schedule a service repair. Again, it worked for another day and then did not work. The reason I purchased the nest smart doorbell was to know when packages arrive, 9 times out of 10 the video is offline when deliveries arrive. It's very frustrating. I called Best Buy and asked for refund due to all the issues I was having with the doorbell and they told me there was nothing they could do since I called 4 days after the return policy expiration and suggested I contact google for a replacement. I'm extremely disappointed!

Googles customer service and subscription service it is way too complicated. If you buy either subscription plan then things work pretty well, but not perfect or easy to navigate.

Did not know user needs to pay a monthly fee in order for the camera to record when a person is detected. The camera pretty much is useless without the sub fee. It only takes a snapshot when motion is detected. be mindful of it

Unfortunately, this device requires an 18v doorbell system. If your house was built before 2014, the doorbell usually operates off of an 8-12v transformer. The electrician charged $350. to "upgrade" the transformer and doorbell. This put the cost to over $500. For about half of this cost, a " Blink" system is wireless, functional and costs about $10. every six months for batteries. It has worked from 0 degrees to 100 degrees F without a glitch. For even less cost, a dash cam at the window will record a 12 hour interval on a memory card.

The fact that this doorbell is over $200 and doesn’t come with multiple ways to set up this doorbell without hardwiring. If u don’t have an existing doorbell it is very frustrating trying to set up.

This doorbell has great picture quality and was receiving good WiFi signal however the application on my smartphone repeatedly lost connection and had to reconnect to service. If app is fixed I would recommend this item.

Google makes a great product but the door bell camera did not work for me. I would recommend the door bell camera if you have a Google Hub or just a love for Google products.

This worked fine when we first got it but now it is hit and miss, does not always work. The volume is got very low now as well, can hardly hear it.

At first I really loved this little toy. But after the free month of Nest storage ran out it is a joke. Without the nest service it will notify you that someone was at the door but you can't see who it was just a few min after you were notified. They also fix it so you can't connect to any other camera system. DON'T BUY THIS JUNK unless you plan on paying a monthly fee to keep it going. It also seems to go off line a lot and the infra-red light fails to some on about half the time until 4-5 hour after pure darkness.

Sadly I had to return bc it was too large for my space and I tried kit set with no luck. Wish they made it more slimmer especially with having an old house. If they came out with a slender one I’d buy again.

Would have given this a 5 star rating when I first purchased but ever since Nest was bought by Google, the service and features have gone down hill. Hopefully Google gets it together soon.

First video door bell purchased. When factoring in subscription pricing, this becomes costly. We went with a competitor product doorbell that also happens to offer a flood light/camera solution for backyard.

After one of my Ring cameras died, I switched over to the Nest doorbell to fit in with the rest of the Google ecosystem. While this works, it is not as user friendly as Ring, and is much more laggy.
