Nest - Hello Smart Wi-Fi Video Doorbell
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Nest - Hello Smart Wi-Fi Video Doorbell requires a higher voltage than the standard installed. My house is only 2 years old and have to upgrade the transmitter. The ring does not require the upgrade.

Quality and Simplicity
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My first feedback would have to be that my wife loves having a camera that tells her who is at the front door. I installed the NEST app on her phone as wells as on her PC which is upstairs. When she hears the doorbell she can easily see who is there wherever she is before she goes to the door. I have to say that the product included superior hardware including the device and any wiring and even screws - all top notch. There are videos provided when you install the NEST app to run you through the simple install process. You will need to put a module in your doorbell but it is easy to do, it will connect with two wires. You should be sure you have at least a 16 volt doorbell (it would be rare if you had a lesser voltage) - mine was 16 volts. You will have to find the circuit breaker that turns off the doorbell (which probably is on your garage lights or outlets but could be any of the breakers). You may see the little transformer hanging off your circuit breaker box or even inside the box. You install the module in the doorbell box and then change out the doorbell button for the NEST Hello. It can be done faster than it took me to tell you. Now there is something called NEST Aware that allows saving of the videos and other abilities, but I only needed the function of being able to see who's at the door. You get a free trial and then it is $10 or so per month if you want to keep the other functions. You can speak to the person at the door as well as hear them. You can set notifications to your email for motion detection or sound detection. I turned off the sound detection for now as even a crow cawing will cause a recording. I have the ARLO battery powered cameras and I set a schedule to preserve batteries but cover times when I want to record motion - that is nice and I love them. However, I really like that the NEST Hello is powered by your home electricity because I can let it record motion all the time and not worry about battery life. I put it in HD mode since I do have hi-speed internet WiFi. The quality of the video is wonderful. It also has night vision - great. One last comment is you will probably use the extra wedge that is included which ensures your camera points away from a wall when your doorbell button is near a corner wall. I had to redo my install of the NEST button since I tried without the wedge. It depends on where your button is. I definitely recommend this product it is great quality and works flawlessly.

Works
||Posted . Owned for 8 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It's been fun having this doorbell. But for the first few months I had to reset it every two weeks. But it is a solid bit of tech that works well withing the Google realm.

Unsure if working
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have to call someone to help me make sure that it is working properly because I don't think it is. Installed properly and all but no video and I don't know why.

Just ok camera
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I tried this doorbell for a couple of days and found the resolution was not what I expected. I returned and it purchased the ring doorbell. It may be good for someone else so I still recommend it.

Buyer beware!!!
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This product is way overpriced if you check with the competitors. The competitions doorbell has way more user friendly. If you do not subscribe to the monthly fee it doesn’t work much better than your original doorbell. I use this product for 60 days. It worked beautifully for the 30 day trial. Now it’s nothing more than a $200 doorbell button. If I could return it I certainly would. It will probably end up in my wastebasket.

Google Doirbell
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Appears to be a good product but not comparable with the wiring for a 45 year old doorbell in a high rise condo. Had to return product

Connect to Google Home App in order to Doorbell
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I just recently installed this product but could not hear the doorbell on an upper level. I contacted Google support and they were gracious enough to walk me through connecting this through the Google Home app. After connecting it to Google Home app - it works like a charm. Buyer beware that you will have to connect it to another app in order to hear it in larger homes.

It works OK, but has issues
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First, I refuse to pay monthly for Nest Aware account as I think that's a RIP-off. I bought this on a pre-order, as I was excited about the features. It is a very nice, well designed and well made product with some nice features, as it is really cool to be able to see who it's at your front door from a continent away. However, it is very annoying that it does not always work as advertised and that Nest limits functionality of a very expensive product if you don't buy a subscription to their overpriced cloud service. Overall, I'm disappointed.

Google nest hello
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Doorbell is rather disappointing. Detects motion with the sun rising and sends notifications. Also sends notifications when it's snowing or someone drives by with headlights on a quarter of a mile away. I ended up turning off motion notifications because it was sending so many that were nothing. Also cuts off the persons head when they ring the doorbell. Unless I can figure out a way around these things, this doorbell is completely useless to me.

Great company, poor doorbell
||Posted . Owned for 4 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Make sure you have small hands, very hard to install if your wires from house are short. It would be nice to add crimping accessories to make life easier!

Not ready for prime time...
||Posted . Owned for 10 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I replaced my Ring with this doorbell. There's a lot to love here - great video, easy to install, peace of mind. But...every doorbell suffers from lag and by the time you get the notice on your phone, open the app and have it connect, the person is gone. It's great for finding out what happened AFTER but not great at using it to interface with your guest while they are at the door. Google / Nest needs to do better.

Great Door Bell
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Installation was breeze however, still having problems with the camera connecting to my network. May need a mesh network or signal booster near the front door.
