If you'd like 24/7 video history, that would be when Nest Aware would be needed. What a disappointment

I decided at the end of October to buy one. It worked wonderfully until a week ago. It powers on and powers off. Google has been no help with the warranty. And will not answer me back and it has been two weeks. What a disappointment. The Ring doorbell may be the way to go.

The picture showed a person and when I clicked to see the clip it did not render. This is not the first time it alerted me to a person and would not show the clip. The clip freezes and I see nothing. Worthless without the subscription.

New transformer required!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.The Nest doorbell works great, had to do some updating on the current system so the Nest had enough power to stream video. The current transformer needed to be replaced, the voltage was too low for the Nest. It was very simple to do, just go to Home Depot and pick up the Heath Zenith for $15 and you’re on your way. Once that was installed the video powered right up! The audio is very good as well. I have a few “Blink XT” wireless cameras that are good as well but the Nest is better, without having to buy batteries. I tried the “Ring” doorbell but the mounting plate was too flimsy for me. That camera kept reverting to battery power even though I had it wired, contacts inside were not being made due to the cheap plate. With the Nest you hook the wires directly to the Nest camera, no worries about any prongs touching or not touching, much much better. The setup was very straight forward and easy to do. The streaming video looks great on my iPad Pro, awesome camera!

Support recommended I upgrade my transformer and still no video. I do not want to deal with nest returns so I will just use my $200 doorbell with no video. I would not recommend, it's not good. Try Ring instead.
